Going to this gig Wednesday night. Can say I am looking forward to it But son got me the tickets So it will be good to be with him on the night. I do like some of U2s stuff But I just don't get the same buss as I do with the Rats

So you are looking forward to it.  Dare I say it, even if you aren't much of a U2 fan, it is a really good arena show and well worth seeing.

If you are standing, then it is best to be at the main stage for the first 8 or so songs and then drift back to the mini stage for the mini set  and then go back towards the main stage.  Also don't go too close to the stage otherwise you miss all the visuals.  Best rock show I ever saw at The O2, but I suppose there isn't much competition as I have only been there for three gigs

I need to go back to school mate I meant to say Can't say I am looking forward to it

 You will enjoy it.

It's a really good show, worth experiencing. No doubt there will be some dedication to the recent acts of terrorism, especially Paris. They were supposed to be playing there this weekend.

Did they make a dedication/mention of Paris and terrorists targeting music?

They didn't really go there. Talked more about what had happened up here in the North and the 3 bombs that went of in the south killing so many when he was around 14, and the impacted that had on him knowing this was on his door step. But have to say it was a great night. I will look at U2 in a different light now when I playing the songs. Odd enough me and my mates at the time had the change to see them in the Ulster hall way back in 1980 Think it was £3 50 at the time. But we were like Who the Fcuk is U2. (They just happened to turn out to be one of the biggest bands in the world) But they still don't hold a light to the Rats. In my opinion anyway

They are and will always be my number 2. No one could shine a light to the Rats.

When Bono rants on about money meaning nothing to him, it's embarrassing. I cringe. Give it all away, Bono. You don't have to have it. When he talks about Ireland and the killings, I have respect. He had one protestant parent and one catholic (can't remember who was who), because of that his family were subjected to a lot of abuse, therefore he understands the senselessness of it all.

God if he thought it was bad in the south because on a mixed marriage. Try living in the North of Ireland. That brings a hole new meaning to the word. Mad.

Yes, agree, mad. My (English) uncle married an Irish lady and brought a family up in NI. He went in the pub one evening (many many years ago) and was told to move out of town - otherwise he'd be going out in a box! They moved to another town that very night ... Good news is that he lived until well into his 80s. But seems a totally different world. Very scary!

A very different and scary world and to think how close to home all this was happening.

I am sure I don't know even a quarter. Just what the BBC decided it would show me and whatever newspapers decided to print.

I tend to look at charity websites to get a more balanced view of what's really going on.
