The concept here is really quite simple: Humanity is like a tree, whilst each individual is a leaf on the tree. All the leaves are different, they come in various shapes, sizes, hues etc. No two leaves are alike, even though they belong to the same tree. But some human beings don't like this. In fact, they detest it so much that they try to cut, mold and fold each leaf to conform to one of two small, distorted forms, and when a leaf cannot be made to fit, they would far prefer to see it ripped off the tree and obliterated.

So yeah, to put it your way manatthetop, 'vive la difference' turns me on. Where do you stand on it?

It would be a boring world if we all agreed on everything. Embrace the difference.

There is so little English in that sentence, Nicola Sturgeon would be happy with it!  Any chance you could have another go?

 1. You're right - you don't need to explain yourself to me. But for the benefit of everyone else, what were you trying to say? You must have been trying to say something you thought we'd be interested in,  otherwise why bother expending time and energy logging in and posting....?

2. How am I?  I'm fine, thanks.

3. I've never professed to have anything in common with you. Agreed, the main thing we have in common is we post to a forum related to a band we like. So what?

4. Don't understand 'Apart form that your history'  See 1 above, please explain, if not for me for others, what is meant there.

5. Bringing politics into it again? That's rich coming from you. You and Joan bring it in by the truckload. It was a light-hearted reference to Nicola's 'separatism-from-Westminster' disposition, with a dual meaning designed to elicit the meaning of what you were trying to say!

6. Hope you read this one ArrGee - I thought the whole point of this was that you are against censorship?

I am genuinely quite interested in what everyone generally writes on here. I did not mean to hit a nerve. I just could not understand what you were trying to say. You should You Tube Michael McIntyre's Scottish routine and then listen to some Frankie Boyle*. Nations always poke a bit of fun at one another.

* Are you going to complain to Boyle's agent about this one: "In Scotland we have mixed feelings about global warming, because we will get to sit on the mountains and watch the English drown".

Course you're not  (I hope) because these things work both ways and no offence is rarely intended. You seem not only to have taken some,  but taken it on behalf of another country!

If you're genuinely offended on behalf of other countries, I'd ask you tell my Scottish friends to stop cheering in the pub when someone scores against England - except I won't, because I have a sense of humour. Try and find yours again manatthetop.

Reading some of your exchanges, I think you are actually both arguing the same thing. Perhaps I'm wrong. Some things are getting lost in translation. From what I can gather, you both agree that we are all entitled to our own opinion and should be able to express it. You're also both contesting the censorship.

Where did it go wrong?

 At about 10.20 last night.

Still,  it sounds like it's all academic now anyway, with the prospect of the site closing. Pity.

I'm not bringing politics into it, but isn't it a shame money is at the root of it?

Hear, hear. All joking and bullsh@t a side. It's been great to have known each and everyone of you rat fan's. I am sure we will cross paths somewhere down the way. Forum was a great  read And even I found out thing's about the Rats on this forum that I did not know about. I used to think I was the only Rats fan left. How wrong was I  in that department

Well said. Hope it continues a while yet. Wished I'd discovered it in 2005 like the originals. I'd have enjoyed 11 years rather than 5. That said, the reunion years of 2013 to 20?? have been magnificent to behold, particularly through the prism of the forum.

This actually succeeded another forum, which succeeded another. I joined in 2002 and am not sure how long things were going on before then. They were probably more BG orientated, particularly with there not having been or no sign of any possibility of a reunion.
