Only two listed for 1984: 14 Feb Leicester Uni and 15 Feb Bradford Uni. The new holy grail is a Dutch tv recording of a 1980 concert. The company that owns the recording are not making it available to everyone, only to say, music video companies who might want to use clips and are willing to pay for this service.

A long while back Having My Picture Taken, from this Dutch concert, was up on Youtube. The audience invaded the stage, or were invited up by Geldof. Picture quality was excellent. Unfortunately it's not being made available to the hoi polloi.smile

This is part of the Dutch tv concert from 1980. The full thing is about 40 mins long but again is only available  for those making commercial videos.

Thanks for uploading Suss, great flyer.

Thought at the time, the Rats would be back in chart business, especially with Drag me Down. The leap from 81 to 56, with a few TV performances that week, would surely propel them into the top 40 where TOTP performances would then guarantee a top 20 hit. How wrong I was when next week they scraped to 50 and fell the week after.

A travesty.

Yeh mark I thought same (in some local charts drag me down was top10') so the vagaries of the pop charts are always confusing as in some charts Dave did well yet gallop limped in at81 so I dint take too much notice of the Gallup chart (prime example banana selling more than the top 2in some places )

I went to a gig at Eastbourne Congress theatre in February1984. That was to support "Tonight". The gig was delayed until a problem with Fingers keyboard was sorted.

I met an avid Rats fan at that gig. Knew far more than me about the band (and at the time, I thought I was their only fan). He wore black leather jacket and went with his girlfriend. I wonder if he is on the list - cant remember his name.

Was that definitely 84? I remember going to one there, also pretty sure it was Feb time as it was near my companion's birthday, but I could have sworn it was during ITLG tour. You could well be right though. I just don't remember it being close in time to the Leicester gig, unless they played both years and I was oblivious to the 84 gig?

But thinking back I do remember Eastbourne being a first hearing on more than one track so maybe it was 84 I went. Must see if I can find the ticket.

Still think they did some gigs in late1982 I think isaid before on here that a friend saw them at wolves civic late 82 although no proof of this. I saw him the other day and he is still adamant he saw them in 82 so there must be quite a few gigs we don't know about

Sounds like it could well have been Mark, the guy who now does merch and various other stage/road duties. Think he's been at more of the gigs than Geldof down the years

The Rats also played Worthing Assembley Hall in December 1983. Did anyone go to that gig?
