Sir Bob Geldof is set to address the annual conference of Hay Group, the HR company in May in Budapest, Hungary.
Geldof's subject will be "From The Boomtown Rats to Live8: Lessons For Business and Life", where he'll be talking about how his experiences with Live Aid, Live8 and his own ventures can translate to business today.
I know Reka is already excited about this. It should be an excellent talk. Pity it is so far away for some of us. And probably very expensive.
€2,800 to register for the conference. Not sure what that is in £'s but it sounds rather a lot. Then there are flights and hotels on top. Nice idea, and I'd love to go to Hungary.
When I saw him at the conference in Glasgow last year, I had to pay for the whole 2 day conference. There was not the oportunity just to see Bob's stint, unless you were a journalist. Maybe Reka could arrange to write a bit for a student magazine and get a journalist's pass? As it was, I quite enjoyed the whole thing and my husband joined me at the hotel on the Satrday night for a ceilidh. I imagine it will be mostly corporate and probably tax deductable. I did not pay anything like £1000 though.
"From The Boomtown Rats to Live8: Lessons For Business and Life" This sounds good. Right now it seames I will have the chance to attend Geldof's presentation.
How would one go about getting a journalist pass... I'd love to interview Bob... I suppose I'd have to be a certified journalist... and I'm only just plain certified...
