Well. it was Dave Stewart and friends, so I guess he was one of the friends. Looks like he was enjoying himself, help him to forget about hte G8 maybe.
Stewart's old pal Bob Geldof hopped onstage to sing "This Is the World Calling," which Stewart told the crowd he and Geldof had written at 2 a.m. in a booth at Twain's in Studio City. (The shaggy-dog intro was more compelling than the song.)
Charming...

Good point Jules. Alot of celebs are like that. There was a general election in Ireland a couple of weeks ago & the new government has being formed with the green party as part of it for the first time. As part of their policies they are refusing to take ministerial cars. Good on them I say! They are great photos of the gig though.

Did you know of Mike Woodin? He was the leader of the Green Party at one time (and I was lucky enough to have him as a lecturer on an economics course I took). Sadly he died at the age 39 from lung cancer 3 years ago (he had never smoked). He knew that he was going to die and asked that there were no cars taken to his funeral and that he coffin be made of the right kind of wood. His wishes granted and there was a trail cyclists.
I often wonder whether his lung cancer could have partly been attributed to cycling around and breathing in the fumes from cars. Yet another affect from over use of cars.
Went to see Dave Stewart perform at the Tower Music Festival the other week (July 14th) and Bob once again did a guest appeareance - fantastic (This is the world calling) . There is a clip on you tube with Bob and Dave:

Was offered a couple of free passes from one of the sponsors for that, but declined as we couldn't get a babysitter. I did hear that Geldof might appear, and I guess he duly did! Shame I missed it, would have quite liked to have seen a concert at the Tower. In fact would have liked to have seen the Tower itself, never been inside it though I used to work in Royal Mint Court just opposite. Elvis Costello played there as well to a less than full house. Hopefully they will do some more concerts next summer. Maybe Geldof dould do it with a mate like Sting; neither of them would sell it on their own, but together. http://www.towermusicfestival.co.uk/artists.html
