What you doing May Bank Holiday Weekend, Fancy This ??

Me and Ian are currently working in a PR and ress capacity for the Acoustic Festival of Britain.  The event is presented and promoted by Artists 2 Events and is hosting some really top class artists.  SO if youre at a loose end for the May Bank Holiday weekend, have a look at this.

There is an air of excitement in the area about a brand new festival taking place over the May Bank Holiday weekend. And for any self respecting music lover tickets are now on sale at the Tamworth tourist information centre in Market Street, for what is probably the biggest family music festival ever to take place in the Tamworth/Lichfield area.  The Acoustic Festival of Britain 2008, situated in 92 acres of parkland in the grounds of Catton Hall is organised and promoted by Artists 2 Events, and is situated in Catton off the A513 Nr. Alrewas and is set to bring three days of top international performers to a most wonderful setting with huge marquees, posh loos, camp site, food concessions and craft markets.  The perfect way to spend a Bank Holiday weekend.

Ian Gibbons, who is the press spokesperson for the festival, said Its a really exciting event. I dont think the area has ever seen anything quite like this before. We think we have all the elements just right; a first class lineup, with big star attractions, a fantastic setting, and something for everyone.  It takes a long time to put this sort of event together, but everything is now in place. We just hope the sun shines.

The festival has attracted some really big names, including Jethro Tull, Marillion, Fairport Convention, Jah Wobble, Donovan, Midge Ure, Andy Fairweather Low, Originals Marston Murray & Co play Whitesnake, Hazel OConnor, Mike Chapman, Nine Below Zero, Glenn Tilbook of Squeeze, Gordon Giltrap, Eric Faulkener (former Bay Citty Roller), Eddie Tudor Pole to name just a few. And there are one or two really big coups with American artist such as Melanie Eighty million Melanie records have been sold during her career with such worldwide hits as "Lay Down (Candles in the Rain)", "Beautiful People", "What Have They Done To My Song, Ma?", "Brand New Key" (Roller skates) and numerous others. Also we are delighted that Peter Tork from the Monkees will be playing on Monday 26th playing hits of The Monkees such as I'm not your stepping stone, Daydream Believer and Last Train to Clarksville. There are lots more to be announced.

The festival will also boast excellent toilet facilities (posh loos), craft markets, food concessions, camping facilities.  So bring your deck chairs for an enjoyable laid back feast of nostalgia, real ales amidst the big top tents, and world foods and craft stalls by the River Trent. What better way to spend a Bank Holiday weekend.

Tickets:
£35 per day ticket adult
£90 per weekend adult
10 15 yr olds £10 per day
Little children £2 per day
£5 per person per night for camping
