I agree with the essence of what Bob is saying here entirely.  Bob has a go at those rich enough to donate, then receives a big pot himself.  However, what we don't know is what Bob donates himself.  If he didn't, then this not the right message.  Bob's genuineness is not in doubt, I must add.  But given that he's notoriously a 'tight wad' himself...

I suppose his £50,000 fee for speaking at this event went to a charity.  This is the man who cancels concerts cos he ain't making enough from it.i In all likelihood, he was probably the richest man in the room.  Although there are a few people in the city who earn buckets of cash, not everyone does.  Not saying they are poor, but there are very few who get the million plus bonuses often quoted.  90% plus of people who work in the City don't earn anything like that (i know!).
