"President Lech Walesa invited Bono and Geldof to participate in the celebration of 25th anniversary of his winning the Peace Nobel Prize - explains Henryk Sikora from Lech Walesa Instutute. "We know that the invitations reached the artists and their reaction was positive but we do not have the official confirmation of their arrival yet" The Institute has planned several interesting events. The 5 of December will be the day of the world forum of youth coming from 60 countries who will meet in Olivia Hall and a conference "Solidarity for future" will be held on December 6 in Baltic Philharmony. "We want to have a debate about the future of the world and not only discuss the past of Poland"- says Sikora. "That is why we have decided to invite Bono and Geldof who are very active in the international affairs. Both have performed in our country. When Bono and U2 had a concert in Chorzow in 2005, one of the most expected songs was "New Year's Day" composed by Bono during State of War for Polish people and Solidarity. Geldof has visited Poland several times. Last year he performed in Warsaw on 1 September, the anniversary of the outbreak of the WWII. He said then that Polish are "the bravest people in the world"
