That won't get anyone buying the re-releases!  Not that it's really bad, but it is probably one of the lesser Rats tracks (still can't believe it made the best of ahead of House on Fire).

I realise that Kicks (which would be great to hear) would sound ridiculous sung by a 50-y-o, and there's no need to do Mondays or Rat Trap as they are very familiar, but Joey, Howard Hughes, Someone's Looking, Banana Republic, House on Fire or Dave would be a far better choice.

But the worst thing is that my DVD recorder is under repair and I won't be able to record it!  (I could us VHS, but...  ).  Never know it may be back in time.

Definately 'Diamond Smiles'. When Bob was asking for requests, it was the first thing I shouted out (not quite sure why, but there you are!).  I got the (dubious) honour of Bob calling me a 'chick' - as in "there's a chick up here who wants Diamond Smiles" - as well as seeing him play it live.

Now that might not seem very memorable, but I'm talking about being at the front of the one and only concert Bob did in Melbourne (Australia, for the stragglers!!), Oct 2002. To put that in perspective, the nearest concert would have been in Sydney, a mere (approx) 850 km [528 miles] away.  So indeed it is etched in my memory!

Thank god for Parkie though (never thought I'd say that ); this was how I found out about the release of s.a.d. as Bob appeared on the show while promoting it. I estimate we're about six months behind UK viewing time - Parkie has just started his new season here - so maybe sometime around August this 'chick' will relive Bob doing the memorable Diamond Smiles.

bump!

Didn't listen to the words (we watched one hour photo tonight, big mistake, it's rubbish), just the songs.

Rat Trap was very good!  Far better than Brits.  More rock 'n' roll (no orchestra).

Diamond smiles was abridged (have the Barbara Cartland & the low voltage noise verses been scrapped?), but seemed a better song without the over fussy keyboards and a shortened wind up.

But how can a man with four daughters get away with hair like that?  I only have a mum, sisters, a wife and a 7-month old daughter and they won't accept me having the odd grey hair! (to be fair, my daughter just wants to oull all my hair out!)

will listen to it all in the next day or two and may have a large .avi or two which are too big to upload anywhere!  Made a copy but forgot about the audio sync .  Well I have all week to do it!

I hated One Hour Photo too, that movie tried to be all scary and creepy but it was lame! It doesn't help that I can't stand Robin Williams anyway

Hiya

Yeah, Parkie is short for Parkinson - a very popular chat show in England (where are you? somewhere like outer Mongolia prob if you don't know of it - or him, lol - how'd ya manage that?).

I missed that too - all this Bob on the telly and my life just keeps getting in the way.

Sigh................

Not sure if this was deliberately shortened for tv or if Bob erred and the band improvised but it's a good version. Parkie says the Rats defined a generation or something and then Diamond Smiles was played by which few people define the Rats. Still, it can get a boring if he only churns out Mondays or Rat Trap in these situations.
