oh, I have a few, personally these are mine:

She's So Modern
Blind Date
Keep it Up
Episode #3 - omg this is the WORST "song" ever!!! wtf?? wretched!
How Do You Do?
This is My Room
Mood Mambo
The Bitter End

then for the ones already listed, I agree with Another Piece of Red, The Little Death, and Walking Downtown.

lol, no I wouldn't even put Episode#3 in the poll b/c it's not really a song, just part of "sleep" or whatever. It's my least favorite Rats TRACK of all time, maybe that's a better way of putting it!

So I say, take it off the poll, b/c you're right, it isn't technically a song! (hence why I said "song" in quotes in my first post here...)

No one has nominated too much, so I'll leave it until others nominate.  I'd expect Franna to have a long post and umpteen nominations on this topic

songs that come to mind are:

No Hiding Place

Man at the Top

I appreciate that they are B Sides. If you ask me for weak songs off Albums then

Debut - Kicks

Tonic - Cant Stop

Surfacing - Diamond Smiles

Mondo Bongo - Mood Mambo

V Deep -  Up all Night ( I actually prefer Mondo Bongo version)

Long Grass - Hard Times

No doubt controversial

I have a lot of listening to Rats stuff to do before I have any idea about what I think is worst.

However, NEWS FLASH --- I've finally gotten my hands on the first BTR CD, and I actually LIKE it.  Shocking, I know!

you have a point there, fran. any time any large amounts of music are thrown at you ('you' meaning anyone), you have to listen to them for awhile before actually making out distinct songs/putting titles to songs. so take your time and yea for liking a BTR CD! everyone can probably find at least one BTR song he/she likes...

steve yes I disagree with a couple of your choices (but agree with more lol). I love Can't Stop and Diamond Smiles Kicks is average except for the beautiful little middle section where the song slows down a bit.

Hard times is not one of may favorites in ITLG (though still better in my opinion than An Icicle In the Sun and Up or Down). V Deep's Up All Night is just average. and yes Mood Mambo is kinda bad and embarassing to listen to.

Wind Chill Factor Minus Zero for sure..

The ONLY rats song which I skip over on a consistent basis when it comes up on my music player.

what what what??

tsk tsk joe, I like Wind Chill a lot. what don't you like about it?

and reading from your other post, ah, you don't care for Like Clockwork too much either? aww...'tis my favorite! hehe

it's ok though, interesting to see who likes/dislikes what. you did save yourself by saying that all of their stuff is better than most of the bands out there

welcome to the board by the way. I understand living somewhere where hardly anyone knows about Geldof or the Rats, as I currently live in Virginia (Maryland's my hometown). only my sis and I know about them! so sad!

Haha, yes, tough enough  to be a Rats fan, even tougher to be one in America..

I am lucky to have a few here though. I introduced my good friend by letting him borrow Great Songs of Indifference and he was hooked and got "Very Best Of" and got an import of "Mondo Bongo" (Although now they're available right here in the states! THANK YOU Lord!) He now has been spreading the Rats gospel to others ;)

But back to my original point..

I don't like Wind Chill Factor just because I find it to be kind of annoying, but not annoying in the addicting Up All Night way, but just in a .. I don't know. Non-appealing way. LOL

As for Clockwork, my feelings on that song vary from day to day. Right now I'm annoyed by it, lol.

wha-whaaaaaaaaaat? hehe Keep it Up is AWESOME! Not only is it a cool, catchy song, but it shows that the Rats can make a stupid song like that and still make it brilliant, with great lyrics and good instrumentation

for most bands a song like that is a mere filler!

as for WCF-0 , I gained a new appreciation for it when I listened to it really loudly on surround sound.

I still don't like Like Clockwork, though, heh..

And as for a few others, I actually really, really like Mood Mambo, and I actually kind of like *runs and hides* Another Piece of Red. I know that's not a popular opinion lol

In no particular order: Charmed Lives, A Hold of Me, Can't Stop, The Little Death, Mood Mambo

I think albums 1 and 3 contain no duff tracks

The poll is utterly inconclusive, but 50 million Rats fans can't be wrong biggrin

Definitely Fanzine Hero. I don't hate it, but it's definitely not their best, or even among it.

In a radio interview with the rats back in 2014 he mentioned that he felt Simon's voice was more fit for the song- emotional and gentle.

It can be viewed here, but it's a little bit later on aww : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_E464Cgj9MI

A bit unfair as they never released it.

PS I had forgotten the Soviet rigging of the result of this poll!

With you 100% Mike with the Little Death but Man at the Top is quite good. What don't you like about it?

How do you feel about Charmed Lives? Not sure if you ever listened to the 1922 show on Beacon 303 back in the day, but they played the song and then gave over the next half hour or so to a sort of listener post mortem as to what had gone wrong with the Rats!

I don't know why I just couldn't get into man at the top for some reason yet I love the bulk of rats besides charmed lives was a weak single but I feel it should be done better but that's just my humble opinion in1982 there was a lot of poor pop songs in the chart but that's life

This poll pre-dates the Ratsh!t ep.  Suspect the result would be quite different.  Ratified or Ratlife?

Time for some Putin rigging...

Anyone think Whitehall 1212 is any good? Pointless instrumental with nothing to say, sounding like The Shadows, or some sub prime 60's movie theme. Hardly storming the barricades material, How anyone is meant to feel anything about this 'song' is beyond me.

Man at the Top is great. should have been on Mondo Bongo. Who knows, was Gerry happy to have his song about a certain rock star and his efforts to stay on top left as a b side?

The Rats have been the most consist band quality wise for me. There's only a few songs I don't like when I think about  it.
