Hi.....

I was born 5 years after Live aid... so I don't remember it at all...

But.. from the Live aid dvd, I also thought that Adam Ant was great... so you're not alone, I loved Bowie's performance, Queen were amazing, and I also enjoyed Paul Young's contribution to the event.

I remember it well. Stupidly I didn't get tickets (one of my greatest regrets of the 80's), but we (my sister and me) took our portable TV into the garden and watched there. It was such a beautiful hot day. Even being at home there was something special about the event which got to everybody everywhere. Queen were amazing.

i wasnt born for live aid either, still had a few years to go (just scraped into the 80s) but i wish that i was. I was born on the wrong era, i LOVE the late 70s and 80s. And i LOVE bob geldof too

Well, as a 44 year old and new to these forums I was at wembley for live aid-brought a coach trip down from Scotland and I can tell you when status quo started the opening chords of rockin all over the world there was an electric feeling running through us all and we had a great day-queen and u2 were the obvious highlights as anyone who has seen the dvd will know. The missus and I are going to hyde park next weekend for live8 and hopefully we will get closer to debt cancellation which has been Bobs obsession for so long. I can remember seeing the boomtown rats many years ago at the glasgow apollo and its hard to believe that Bob has gone from his punk beginnings to the campaign he now spearheads-I truly hope that live8 does not end in glorious failure as Bob said but finally makes the g8 leaders wake up to the madness that they have turned a blind eye to for so long-well done Bob for fighting so long and so hard and we will be there next saturday and with you in Edinburgh on the 6th as well.

The march in Edinburgh is fantastic!! I thought the Hyde Park show started really weakly, at least compared to Live Aid and Quo's opening. Also, the BBC cocked up the start with an aborted intro that had to go into a brief history of Live Aid and lost two minutes so the show started properly at 2.02. "It's 2 o'clock in London..." Yeah, right! Wouldn't really expect anything but cock-ups from a live history show though. Watching BBC News 24 now as that has continuing coverage of the Edinburgh march. I hope it continues in the carnival spirit. Is it true that McCartney wouldn't do Live8 unless he could open the show?

My dad has said similar to me! because I love T-Rex, Roxy Music, BTR .. I was also having a discussion with my friends how I was robbed of the 1970's! I was born in 1982 so too young to remember Live Aid that's why I made damn sure I watched as much of Live 8 as I could (I caved at about 1:30am and went to bed)

Well, I was an adolescent in the 1970's and wish I'd been born a decade or so earlier so as to experience the swinging sixties - and the anti-Vietnam war demos! In 1985 I was in Dagenham, east London, struggling to get my 'career' off the ground and was living in a rented room. I watched Live Aid on the TV in the front room of the house. Probably consumed a lot of beer that day.

To escape the 12th of July long weekend in Northern Ireland, a friend and I had flown to Amsterdam. It was a very hot day and I remember listening to Live Aid on a little radio while lying in the shade in an Amsterdam park. Saw a bit on the telly at the Youth Hostel we were staying at too. It was a really big deal I remember.

Hi all! I´m new in the froum. I´m from Argentina. In 1985 I was 12 and, like this time, I was in my country. Anyway I heard Live Aid on the radio and that night I warched an especial program on TV.

Live8, thanks the same radio station, Rock&Pop, I listened from "sgt. Pepper´s Lonely Heart Club Band" to the great end with all singing "Hey Jude". That night I wartched some parts in an especial program on TV an don sunday I warched all completely on MTV latin.
Here, most of the channels, radios stations and newspaper still tells about Live8, even today, monday, 2 two days after.
