Got my text today!! Really looking forward to the concert. I'm seeing U2 twice over the coming weekend and then with Live8 as well it's going to be a great summer
So am I! But I didn't win tickets, someone gave us them who couldn't make it... Superb. I'm in musical heaven now, The Beautiful South on Friday, U2 on Sunday, Live 8 on 2nd July, REM on 9 July, and later some more Bob
WOOHOO! Despite the fact that I'm green with envy, I'm v. happy you Ladies will be representing the Geldof crowd at the show! It really wouldn't have been right if none of us got to go.
I'll just reiterate what MJ's said and say I'm green with envy. However I'm absolutely delighted you two got the tickets, especially as you're two of the Geldof party faithful. I'll be looking forward to some good reviews now!
And you're going to see U2 as well. We tried and tried to get tickets for the Croke Park gigs without success and despite mammoth effort I couldn't get tickets for the Slane gig a few years back either. I've never seen them live but maybe one day...........(I live in hope!) Still, life's not all bad as I'm going to see some other favourites of mine, Neil and Tim Finn, tonight in Belfast. Not quite U2 in terms of popularity but they always deliver a great show. Fingers crossed for a generous helping of the Split Enz stuff!
You must be so excited.........I think I'd be smiling continuously for the next few weeks if I was you!
The postman arrived with a letter that had to be signed for, and it wasn't a speeding ticket like it was the last time I had to sign for anything! No, it was a pair of Murrayfield Live 8 tickets for next Wednesday!!!!!
We had sent one text and a couple of postcards off for these, and I think it was the old postcards that came good.
My 14 year old daughter (Peaches Geldof's fiercest critic) is accompanying me, we've flights booked and, after huge effort, a B & B. Whatever they say, it must be great to be in the accomodation business in Edinburgh next week and be looking at 100% occupancy mid week!
I've hardly been able to concentrate on my work all day today. Am grinning like a Cheshire cat!
YAY! Belated congratulations kidneybean!!! I'm very happy for you guys. I'll try to catch a glimpe of you when I watch on the small AOL window on my computer...
Someone else posted it for me as I don't know how to do it!! You have to put it on a website which stores pictures and paste iin the link. Most aren't compatible with the Mac.
Thanks Mousey for the advice; as you can see my avatar=fish for now but still looking. Am looking for a smallish Google picture that will fit, as I still don't know how to change sizes, looking perhaps for the humunahumunahuma fish that lives in Hawaiian waters (see Meekus early postings). Waiting to hear how Jules was in the picture with Sir Bob, though!
I didn't get to Philly for the concert, however, 800,000 others did! I hear 200,000 were at Hyde Park. You guys that got to go must of had a great time!
I watched the entire event on MTV and did tape it.
Thanks Rita...you look good together! I'm afraid I wasn't keeping up with Sir Bob much before Live8, so, he had a show inside the cathedral? What was it like?
Yes. And we had bonus - U2 and Macca were warming up whilst we were in the queue. We were in the queue for a bit under 3 hours. They weren't warming up for all of that time, obviously but it certainly helped the time go more quickly. Especially for me when U2 were warming up alone.
At one point Bono appeared to be losing his voice a little and it is noticeable on TV.
