Fifty great albums from the last decade...

(actually it's 55)  Most amazed I have four Coldplay albums in there.  I suspect I missed a couple of other good ones and also tried to not just select all the albums from a group (though Coldplay and Franz Ferdinand are the notable exceptions).   Even left off a few bands I sort of like (e.g. Coral, Zutons, Keane, Green Day, Kooks, British Sea Power, Rakes, Tears, Supergrass, Hives, Embrace) as none of their albums really stand out.  Decade was better that I thought....

Might have overlooked some great albums. I would suggest some of these noughties albums:

Clinic- Walking With Thee, Winchester Cathedral, Internal Wrangler

Johanna Newsom- The Milk Eyed Mender

The Saints -Nothing Is Straight In My House, 2005

Dirty Pretty Things- Waterloo To Anywhere

Broadcast/Focus Group Investigate Witch Cults of the Radio Age

Ladytron -Witching Hour

XTC- Wasp Star Apple Venus Volume 2

Scott Walker- The Drift, 2006

Unfortunately one of my faves Echo and the Bunnymen were a big letdown in that decade. The saying 'half of art is knowing when to stop' could apply here .
