Depends where you want to walk to really...if Gleneagles then bring a pair of really good walking shoes as it's about 40 miles or so (though they probably won't allow you to cross the Forth Road Bridge so bring a wetsuit and snorkel to cross the Forth!)
...if it's along to the concert at Murrayfield then about 2-3 miles from the train station....
just watch out for the black clad thugs that are having fun smashing up the city and terrifying the tourists at the moment...
I'm going. Don't know Edinburgh that well but the advice seems to be to avoid Waverley station and use Haymarket instead........? Haymarket looks closer to Murrayfield on the map anyway!
I'm a bit worried about the anti-capitalist protesters especially as my daughter will be with me. Was going to go and hang some photos on the railings at Princes Street but will have to approach with caution. Hopefully the stuff on TV's a bit like what they show about Northern Ireland. Sporadic stuff happening in a small area.
No...it was along the MAIN street in Edinburgh (Princes Street). The police tried to hold them in the gardens (below Princes Street) and in some side streets. Now they are wrecking Stirling (smashing cars - not fancy ones or expensive ones but small Corsas, Polos etc...).
I hope I won't see your daughter huddled in a shop doorway crying her eyes out at the thugs thundering by brandishing metal poles etc a la Monday's events...just be careful..
