Did anyone here watch live8 edinburgh? I saw it, and was about to switch it off for bed (saw the replay on bbc7 at nite) and then sir bob came on with his fottie shirt, and sang rat trap...i was really exited! i had seen him once play on stage....but i had now seen him TWICE IN 1 WEEK! This was really cool, i was jumping on my bed....LITERALLY!
Yeah, I saw it after all by keeping my DVD writer running when I realised we were being shown edited highlights rather than the gig live - BBC Scotland making a complete pig's breakfast of the whole show.
We never got to see "The Great Song Of Indifference", despite the fact it was a Top 20 hit across Europe on its release

the shirt was a Renfrewshire United one, that is the local football team for Murrayfield - as far as i'm aware.
I was lucky enough to go to Murrayfield last week as i live just down the road and it was the best day of my life! it was my first ever concert, and i will remember it forever!
i got my mum to tape it at home and i was disappointed that they didn't show the great song of indifference, it was truly amazing! but rat trap was fantastic too!
GO BOB!

My husband had taped the Murrayfield gig as was broadcast on BBC2 Scotland, and I was disappointed that "The Great Song of Indifference" wasn't shown.
On the day I actually thought that the audience really got behind this number more so than "Rat Trap", possibly because it's easier to sing along with if you've no prior knowledge...........?From the stands where we were I could see hundreds of couples swinging about arm in arm on the pitch during TGSOI. I think the meaning of the lyric was lost on the poor souls, and it was ironic that this was enjoyed more so than "Rat Trap" which was a far bigger hit in its day. Bob had introduced the song as an "old Scottish folk song" which had them totally foxed.
Mouse you really have to see Bob perform live one day. You'll be blown away, though I warn you there's nearly as much talking as there is singing! (The man could talk for Ireland.) He's a born story teller and very funny but sometimes I feel sorry for his band (especially Pete Briquette who's lived the stories) as they've probably heard it all many times. Having said that I saw Bob perform twice in Belfast in the last few years, and he didn't repeat the stories at all!!! (Obviously there's a lot of material to work from!)
i saw him at edinburgh 50000.just got the tix a few hours ago.im in the middle of the front row.im well chuffed!!!!!!!!my mum sent me a msg saying she had them at lunch time, so i was jumping around school!!!!
