Chat-wise, there are people here from all around the world living in different time zones & such, so it's difficult to get a ton of people in the room at one time. And it's addictive sometimes lol, once you go in (and there are others there) it's hard to leave until at least an hour has passed...so I, anyway, have to set a chunk of time just to chat. I haven't lately b/c I've been working at my job, and any free time I get is consumed by doing things with my family...you know, everyone has his/her own daily duties & jobs to do.
Forum-wise...currently there have been a lot of clashing dynamics between members, offensive topics, etc., which have turned some people off I believe. But, this board is usually a peaceful one anyway, without all the clashes...compared to, say, a Johnny Depp forum or something, I'm sure this one seems 'empty' often, but that's always how it's been for the most part (in my time here, anyway). I personally don't mind it not bursting with tons of new members and topics each day because it's difficult for busy persons to keep up with everything.
I like it the way it is. Sometimes I think it gets too 'busy' around here. There is a fairly small community of Bob Geldof fans/admirers out in the world in comparison to other celebrities, and there's nothing wrong with that.
That's all just my opinion. Any other thoughts, anyone?
If you want to chat any time, just let us know when ... see what we can do. No guarantees. As as already been said people are doing different things.
If you think of any thing worth discussing go ahead and post. I'd welcome more activity and am constantly wracking my brains trying to think of something which might get people talking.

I couldn't agree more. I think MMbullybuddyGP is spot on. Chat-wise, I find it difficult to get up and have my brain functioning in any meaningful way at 6:30am my time when the chat starts, and though I tried a few times to join in around 7:30am, there wasn't much going on between my ears (I'm very much a night person!). [These times are based on the chat starting at 8:30pm GMT, though I can't remember if it's Saturday or Sunday night]
Forum-wise, with eastern Oz being 10 hours ahead of GMT and 14 hours ahead of the US East Coast (16 hours ahead when the US in in non-daylight savings and Oz is in daylight-savings time), it's rare for anyone to be in the forum when I'm in it (which is always at night) - except when I'm up far too late and people come in, say, in their lunchbreaks.
A lot of tensions occurred around Live8, where the number of members soared, everyone had something to say and an opinion on everything ... but many of those members have not stayed on - their agenda was Geldof and Live8, not an ongoing interest. Things did get a bit out of control (I'm not quite sure how ArrGee et al kept their sanity), and inevitably some people were turned off and didn't return.
It's been my experience too that the Forum hasn't been incredibly busy - both the 'previous' one (may it rest in peace in Forum heaven) and this format. I've had a look at different types of forum, but I can't work out how on earth to keep up with huge numbers of postings and members. The truth be known - I can't even work out how to keep up here (Guru - how do you do it??!!). So I wholeheartedly second MMbullybuddyGP in saying I like it the way it is.

Ah, nice of you to think of me! I kept my sanity by staying on the Rats board and only going to the Live 8 board as required.
I like this board. Not too busy and you get to know the people. And on the whole you're a good bunch.
