Is Geldofs music "depressing"?

Maybe "depressing " is the wrong word but I've always seen a melancholy strain in his solo work-of someone who comes across as never being too happy or contented with life. I know perceiving the whole of someones personality through art is a bit unfair and I  recognise the persona of a singer may be an unreliable indicator.

Anyway I like his melancholy songs particularly A Rose at Night and A Gospel Song and loads of others. Even Walking Back to Happiness is not without an air of regret and pining for a lost childhood. There are so many more examples and I'm curious to know will the new album be more uplifting or will it generally have the same emotional tone. Maybe it will be Geldof's happy album-  the Happy Club being a sardonic misnomer of course!
