BG talked recently about things that affected him most, amongst which was meeting his heroes Mick Jagger and Bob Dylan.

It must be hard to meet someone he had hero worshipped in his teenage years and was deeply influenced by.

Just what do you say that doesn't make you  sound like a blithering idiot?

Yes in some ways I see bob as a hero and so in that case what impact on me would meeting him have?

Blithering idiot I am with just mere mortals, so goodness knows what I would be Bob himself LOL. Sorry I don't really think Bob is a god although maybe in another life or on another planet or plane he is one. Mind you perhaps we are all gods and goddesses on some plane or another eh?

I kind of think that if I was GOD himself I would create others to be my equals or otherwise what a lonely planet it would be physically AND metorphorically.

The first time I met Bob was after a concert where he apologised if he sounded bad as he had a cold and wasn't feeling the best. When I spoke to him after I told him even though he was sick he sounded brilliant and I really enjoyed the concert and hoped he felt better soon. He thanked me and gave me a hug and kiss on the cheek. Both other times we met were also fine. I've heard the horror stories of people meeting there heroes and being very disappointed. Thankfully that didn't happen me smile

I'd imagine when Geldof met Jagger and Dylan it must have been one of the few times Bob was stuck for words.

I suppose fans meeting stars are quite artificial situations, like after a gig and you sometimes hear of people being offended when the "star" seemed maybe offhand or whatever, or didn't sign an autograph.

Glad both Jules and Musicmania had good encounters. Maybe the trick would be  to wear a T- shirt with GELDOF is large capitals.

Anyway my opinion is that you don't necessarily need to meet someone to admire them- I know I'll never meet Woody Allen- and I don't have an abiding need to do so. It's the same with BG. I'm sure he's a complicated person but I like his musical persona.
