Does anyone have any information about this snooker based short film, which also starred Mel Smith, Ray Winstone and Alison Steadman? Thanks.

I rather like this and watched it again over the weekend. Bob decided not to adopt a ****ney accent for this film opting instead for an Irish patter. He thought it would be hard for him to maintain a ****ney accent for an entire movie and believed it may have inhibited his performance. Nice to watch Mel Smith again and be thankful for his contribution to entertainment over the years.

I did not put those asterisks in and their auto inclusion is absurd and an insult to peoples intelligence.

I've never seen this. One reason is  that I find snooker extremely boring, a non sport- though I suppose the film is about character rather than sport.

I think you would enjoy it Noel if only from a nostalgia angle and to lament how much younger everyone looked in 1985!

....but in 1982, no sign Number One was the kind of film Bob was looking to get involved in:

Wish there was more of this. Bob likes staying in flash hotels for free-wonder is that still true, though he could buy some hotels with his small change. He is a big fan of Robert Mitchum- he has referred to RM is other interviews I've seen.
