Accidentally heard a new version of this song by some unknown female pop star which sounded pretty ok not that I'd know much about "pop music". It may be some X Factor type but it did sound decent enough- vaguely like M People with a feeble dance beat type thing.
Maybe Bobs version was a case of too many cooks spoiled the broth, what with all the egos elbowing for room. Anyway I think this version is new but it may be a few years old for all I know about chart types. Its probably best described as uncluttered.
Strangely enough, last night I couldn't sleep much at all because for some reason I had DTKIC going around in my head. I had been thinking of the Boomtown Rats live version and that perhaps they should have an annual Christmas Party Tour.
Anyway... I woke up this lunch-time and kept singing "Tonight thank gawd it's them instead of yooooou" because my voice was dog rough. I sounded just like Bono!

I found myself recently waking up with Kaiser Chief songs from their Off With TheirHeads album playing in my head- those catchy songs that you forget about consciously and then find them revisiting you subconscious at 3 AM.
Do They Know.... is one of my least favourite Geldof songs being way too overwrought and melodramatic musically and lyrically. I heard this "new" version is a Dublin shopping centre and it did sound pretty OK in a music for people who don't like music kind of way.
