To follow on from suss`s names quiz ,i thought i`d have a go at a numbers quiz, just for fun. All these numbers appear in the lyrics to rats songs. They can be found on the re-issued cd`s. They must be a number ,rather than the word(5 not five) and be in lyrics not the title (whitehall 1212 does not count) HAVE FUN !!!
1.-1970. 2.-1. 3.-10 x 3. 4.-3 x 3. 5.-90. 6.-20 x 3. 7.-24. 8.-33. 9.-4. 10.-16. 11.-8. 12.-50. 13.-28. 14.-2 x 4. 15.-6 x 2. 16.-9. 17.-10,000. 18.-6345789. 19.-17. 20.-5.
Some of these appear more than once(x2 or x3) but not always in the same song.
17 is 10, 000 streets under an orange sky - Walking Down Town 18 is Walking Down Town, again. 51is 90 Degrees Someone's Lookin' 1 is 1970's Shes So Modern 8 is 33 Never Loved Hitlers Girlfriend -- Edited by noelindublin on Tuesday 8th of February 2011 04:04:14 PM

Nah, that's a Geldof solo song (a good one, too). The actual answer is 'Walking Downtown' ("...that's my number, say it again..."). Always makes me wonder if 63 is the area code for Beechwood, if you catch my drift ;)

Do you mean that the number has to have been transcribed using digits in the lyric sheets supplied with the re-issued CDs? For example, you haven't listed 1,000: is this because those lyrics are transcribed as "a thousand dropped names" and "a thousand well-known faces" rather than "1000 dropped names" and "1000 well-known faces"?
I only have ITLG on re-issue so I may not be much use. Fun stuff though :)
Yep -you're right Jamie -in my enthusiasm I forgot it was restricted to band output rather than the solo stuff. So to redeem myself here's the Mondo Bongo references:
16: Mood mambo - late last night around 9 o'clock 4: Go man go - a cup of tea for 3 15: Go man go - and 6 including vat 3: This is my room - its 10 x 9 and in a mess 16: This is my room - as above 7: Elephants Graveyard - sky burns bright 24 hr night
Personally think 40 shades of green 60 shades of red should have also been in (even if they are written in full).

In reply to suss, looking after no1 does not count as it appears as one in the lyrics and not the digit 1,so fifth floor lift does not count either(nice try though). In reply to jamieuka 1000 is not included because it appears as a thousand. Also will give you a point for this is my room(10x9) but have not included this in my list because for some reason the lyrics dont appear on the re-issued cd.
I might have to check lyric sheets as I've got no idea where it's a digit and where it's a word. e.g. Would guess that Don't Believe what you Read would be an answer for both '1' and '2' but bet it reads 'one' and 'two'.
'20' has to be from She's so Modern.
Are 9 and 5 (as in half past) both from Close as You'll Ever Be?
p.s. Bit of trivia which some might not be aware of...634 5789 is an old soul number. Think Wilson Pickett for one did it.
I know the answers are supposed to be in numerical form so this won't qualify but In Hard Times Geldof sings "Spare a dime/ or at least a thousand p...."

The answer to question 11 was rat trap but the answer to question 20 has not been found yet. Some of these questions are quite hard if you dont look at the lyrics sheet.
The answer to question 20 is found on the ITLG re-issue cd..
Ah yes, took me a while but I'm pretty sure it's Walking Downtown yet again, "...1 thing leads to maybe 6 or 5..." Happens to be the only Rats track on my ipod right now apart from a certain version of Mondays, the latter being in a playlist called 'Heavy Rotation' (name lifted from Is That It, in case you hadn't realised).
