I guess it's true, BG really did make a recording of Voodoo Child.  Well, Bob's got balls.  Probably heresy, but balls.

Cool, thanks Tina and Ian for posting that! I really look forward to that. Especially the bonus tracks of course! And especially this: "18. The Roads of Germany – Live In Germany"

AND I'm looking forward to the cover artwork!

Will have to find out if it appears on the same day in the rest of Europe.

One more question:

"The Original Miss Jesus"

Is there a reason why this will be a bonus tracks on the Happy Club CD? Was it written that early? I thought it only came out as an extra track on the US version of SA&D...

Does anyone know?

Oooo, November's gonna be great.

All those Bob goodies, & the new Fields of The Nephilim album out on the 5th to sustain me until then.

My poor little Pocket PC's gonna be glowing red hot from overuse of the media player!

Good question. But to be honest, I haven't wondered. I didn't even notice as I don't particularly like Crazy - sorry Jimfol!

Maybe there's some legal reason, as Crazy wasn't on any of the albums?

Maybe it is on the Best of, which is due at some point.

Not the only omission, some b-sides aren't there .....

  • Talk Me Up          (World Calling)
  • The Warmest Fire (A Gospel Song)
  • Sweat For You     (Room 19)
  • Let's Go              (I Cry Too)

 (excluding re-mixes)

Are there different versions out there?

Got mine from amazon.de today. No Live-Track(s) at all. I'm talking about "Roads Of Germany (LIVE)". Take a look at the amazon.co.uk and amazon.de tracklistings, many differences to see.

I'm looking forward to a release of a Geldof Solo LIVE DVD, at least a great LIVE CD.

I received my signed copy today. I was very happy with it for about 30 minutes... then I read about the cancellation of the London gig.

I hope I will be able to enjoy the box set in a couple of days, when the disappointment has eased a little

WOW!  WOW!  I got my set today - and I LOVE it!  Atta boy, Bob!  Great great stuff!

Still soaking it all in, and I'm sure I'll rant and rave about it more as time goes by, but the short version for now?  It's great - can't recomend it enough to Geldof fans - or any fan of good music - all four solo discs, in a handsome case, with a wonderful booklet with essay, lyrics, credits, photos, and tons, I say TONS (yet missing the poppy and wonderful Talk Me Up b-side, but I'm not complaining!) TONS of bonus tracks...

Wow... that's all I can say for now... great great stuff...

ok!  I'm still all soaking it in - and loving it...

a longer review will probably spill out of me in a while, but a few quick thoughts...

I had read somewhere - here maybe? - that Happy Club had a different versions in US/UK - but didn't realize the UK version was missing "Yeah Definately" and that "Hole to Fill" had different lyrics.   (Though, in my US version - on the lyrics sheet, the new Hole to Fill lyrics are in a different font, so, uh...) - I like the different order of songs - think it's cool to end the record with "House on the Top of the World" - though I have a hard time hearing that song end without hearing "Soft Soil" start... Also - the longer version of "My Hippy Angel", found on the single - is awesome, and were it up to me, I would have included it on this set...

Also - as AreGee noted - a few songs are not included here - Talk Me Up & Let's Go - found on the "I Cry Too" and "This is the World Calling" singles - are, to the best of my knowledge, are only avaliable on record - does anyone know different?   Are there CD singles of those songs?  I still haven't figured out yet how to transfer my LP's to digital music - for mix cd's and downloading to iPods and that sort of stuff... - and, oddly, those are two of my favorite b-sides of old man Geldof!  Tips?  Suggestions?  Etc!

Anyroad - by a completists standards, sure, sure, there's a few songs missing from the set, but by GUM, it's SUCH a Great set!   I'm really thrilled - love it love it love it...!!

Going to digest it a little more for a few days, and then I'll post something really long winded about it... but seriously - not to sound like I'm shilling here, but any of you who haven't ordered it...?  WHY NOT??
