Pete Briquette Produces
Geldof In Africa Soundtrack CD
Due for release on 31/10/2005

While Bob has been travelling around the world lobbying presidents and government leaders, Pete Briquette has holed up in the studio recording and producing the album Geldof In Africa. The documentary soundtrack to the BBC's Geldof In Africa Series will be released at the end of October on CD format to accompany the release of the DVD of the same series.  Disc 1 is made up of various artists including Pete. But disc 2 is very interesting, it's a chill-out album made up entirely of material by Pete Briquette, and features 2 poems read by Bob Geldof. We have just spoken to Pete who is extremely pleased with the project. Having listened to a copy here in the geldof.info office, I can thoroughly recommend this album for any self respecting Geldof fan or those who just love good music.

Cool. I like the track titles. I'm looking forward to that a lot!

Also Bob reading Rimbaud - that should be interesting!

Ian, will the chill out cd available seperately, or in a package with the dvd?

It looks to me as though there are 2 CDs, one chillout and one of Bob reading poetry (wow) will they both be with the DVD?

And I should also quote Kath here, but I'm too lame to figure out how.

My current understanding is that the DVD is one release, consisting of the TV series.

There will also be a separate audio CD release, a two disc set: the soundtrack to the TV series (disc 1) and Pete's "Chill Out" CD (which includes Bob reading poetry - disc 2).

I think that's the deal.

I have my ways.   No idea what the CD price will be but the DVD price has been listed somewhere (I think?).....try Amazon.

Only time will tell. But not much time and so far there is no pre-order information for the CDs, if this is the case. They are due out on Monday, according to the information on here. Unless that date is put back of course...

Thanks Fran. I'd understood it that way too.

These are now available from Amazon at 9.99. They are actually 14.99 on Play.com...

Look for Geldof in Africa - music from the tv series. I've combined the order with my DVD, which means I'll have to wait, but won't have to pay p&p - all 1.74 of it!
