I must say I have always had a fondness for strange, unusual, exotic musical instruments- possibly due to liking lots of sixties psychedelia.

This piece on the hurdy gurdy is really amusing -the guy from English heritage gives us a run down and plays some tunes, 'Medieval rave songs' and in a world of robot r an b and 'urban' music a little medieval rural psychedelia is most welcome.

Does anyone have any nominations for favourite oddball instruments. You'd be amazed at just how many weird, strange, insturments there are, with some musicians actually making up, or modifying existing instruments.

Some interesting instruments here - namely the noseflute and tiny ukulele!
