I saw your plaintive query in 'other stuff', so a) wanted to see if I could post or whether we were all afflicted b) tease you if successful.

Looks like you've been restored though. Were you sin binned or something, or was it simply that you blew the half a million posts limit and had to be reset?? confuse smile

I am thinking of merging all the forums into one. The main motivation behind the original split was not having to wade through all the Live 8 cr@p. As most of those with an interest in Geldof have decamped to tw@tface, I don't really see why it is worth having separate sections. I tend to use the recent posts tab rather than go into each forum. The live aid forum and the golden circle are long gone and not missed. So maybe it's time Geldof was back with the Rats...

The irony would be that this forum was originally set up as a Geldof forum. But nowadays 80-90% of the posts are Rats related.

Sounds like a sensible suggestion to merge. Take your point elsewhere that we probably do need a fresh injection of news or material to revive spirits and debate and content though, especially as those crosswords take me forever to compile smile . Still good for the banter though, and the odd unearthed gem, plus every week I do seem to learn something new from the collective expertise on here.

In summary, I'm grateful for it, even when there's reduced news or input. Thanks for maintaining.

Oh go on, do a crossword - I do love having cross words, they brighten up an otherwise dull day! It seems 'tis the season not to be jolly, but apathetic! I would write something more interesting, but can't seem to summon up the enthusiasm ... I just need the occasional distraction from a very busy (though exceedingly dull) time at the work at the minute though. Just picture me sitting in a cold, dilapidated office in a garret-like room, either staring at the wall that I'm facing or squinting at the computer screen, with only Radio 1 to keep me company. Not even a bonus or a pay rise to look forward to biggrin

OK will try to focus on forthcoming Rat gig in Guildford - anyone else venturing there? I hear it's going to jam-packed but hopefully not totally full of blockheads ...

PS Just trying to increase my number of posts - and overtake Joan
