I'm getting hugely turned on to Led Zep...........

amazingly brilliant band, i didnt really realise they were such an old band actually....

F@cking awesome

yeh i know i been saying that i'm just getting into blur who seem to have a teeny little something about them but compare blur to led zep hahahaha absolutely effing hilarious, what a JOKE...

i know people say to me i should hunt round for the really good stuff more that is current today and i normally put my hands up in admission to not really exploring thoroughly the less maintstream sounds that are about today...... but i have been over recent months/year or so been listening that little bit harder for decent music thats current and i'm afraid to say my intuition and gut instinct that it was all pretty much a big pile of pants anyway and not worth exploring was much nearer the truth than what others have been insisting; that there is good music about.

i still have a soft spot for amy mcdonald, i like her, just hits a spot for me and i've listend to her albums a lot this last 6 months...........

but i really think that music is SUFFERING........ do any of you get where i am coming from?  and if so, why do you think this is?

isnt bob geldof quoted as saying that rock n roll is dead? i dunno about rock n roll, i never was a big fan of the roll bit, but rock has died a death for sure.......... how goddam sad it all is..... but WHY??

are there tonnes of bands that i dont know about out there struggling to get aired on the radio or marketed that are truly as awesome as zeppelin, hendrix, joplin or skynnard?

ffs! DIRE DIRE DIRE DIRE DIRE.......

the poetry and life has gone out of music................. it sounds stifled, it sounds sick.......ill.... if current music were a reflection of people in the today i would say we have become sickly ill and meak, yes meak......... lifeless, dull, stale, bored.................... ILL.  fading, withering away...... slowly dieing inside.

haha just casting my mind back to going to a few 'raves' just about at the end of the wave of outdoor raves that were eventually put a stop to by the police as they sweeped the nation.

i know theres some good E music (theres prolly a name for the genre of music i am thinking of but dunno what it is lol) but in my experience there was some DIRE thoroughly DEPRESSING music around at that time................. lol it was like well as everyone is high as a kite we can get away with god awful sounds cos everyones too off their faces to give a ****........ no tune, no melody, not really a beat or rythm to speak of................................................... not exactly what you need when coming down....... i would of thought 'come down' music should be soothing not blinking cut-ya-wrists SOULESS sounds that i really really tried hard to enjoy........ dismal.

another question, i have often thought there is a sexual energy to music......... when done well its like an orgasm.... and as there are many different types of orgasms entailing the beginning, build up and explosion at the end, or whatever u want to call it........... then if music is orgasmic... and i think it is...... then are the sounds around toorday indicative of the people of today's orgasms.

i wonder if there are trends in types of orgasms as in how powerful, how heady, how high the peak through time............... sex and our attitude to it changes over time so maybe the orgasms we have change too... perhaps along with the dynamics between a man and a woman or between same sex if you are more that way inclined.

haha, i know most of you will think i'm blinking nuts but thats most likely to be cos ya listen to too much crap music.

lol

I tend to watch documentories when I do bother to watch tv. Sometimes I can pick up cheap box sets of various comedy series but generally I'm out of touch with comedy. Did see Peep Show and that was good.

Sod Led Zeppelin. The little I've heard of them they just sound bombastic.

On a more positive note I've just bought a 52 track Small Faces compilation. The Small Faces are pretty good, a great sixties mod and part psychedelic band, very influential and worth the hype.

Now you are talking!  Ogdens' Nut Gone Flake is one of the best albums of the 1960s.

"Wouldn't it be nice to get on with me neighbours? But they make it very clear they've got no room for ravers!"

About a million times better than Stairlift (sic) to Heaven and a Whole Lot of cr@p!

I think I'll be ODing on the Small Faces for the next while.

Re Led zep there was a guy on Danny Baker show on Radio 5 live who said he went to the O2 in London on his motorbike, without a ticket, and then exchanged  his bike for a Zep ticket from a guy who was willing to swap his ticket for bike. Think the bike was worth £10,000 or thereabouts.confuse

Yes, me too. I'm the master of the fcuking universe at 3am and I know how to solve all the world's problems.

How's the hangover?

I did buy the Remasters album as I never was really into them back in the day. I found it to be the biggest pile of self indulgent sh!te I'd heard up until that moment of my life.  However, the following year I got Pink Floyd's Echoes which turded (sic) out to be an even bigger pile of self indulgent sh!te.

"I am really grossly offended by Led Zeppelin..." -Elvis Costello

"Now Led Zeppelin, I don't think you'll find two minutes of them to listen to. When I listen to Led Zep what I do is I Just take little bits from here and there and then bung 'em onto cassette. I can't BEAR a whole song. " - Johnny Rotten

Led Zeppelin - Bunch of w@nkers!   You'd have to be off yer trolley to be digging them.
