geldof's voice sounds different in this youtube version of this song to the recording on CD that i have.........

on the album, i think its best of.... his voice sounds incredible........ like a one off, i would be interested to know where he was at as in what place he was in as in what was going through his head or happenign in his life when he sang the verion on album, IF IT IS HIM, lol, i said to Suss 'thats not geldof' to which Suss replied 'yeh it is'....... his voice on that album version REALLY hits a spot..... it really is fantastic.

how come he sounded so different ?

any of you know what i'm on about? lol

I know I read about this in last week or so, but can't recall where. It was a Bob interview I think, talking about the only Rats stuff he listened to in the hiatus was a live recording, may even have been the same gig he go thumped, where he thought that track sounded better than the vinyl version, hence its inclusion on Best Of.

I don't doubt someone will fill in the facts before I find the interview again.

I can definitely tell its him. Wouldn't have questioned that, but it sounds as though there might be some technical alteration/adjustment to the sound.
