what time is the gig due to take place at? I'll due to arrive in Cork about 12.45 so probably best thing is to have a definite place to meet up. Clancys is on 15 Princes St in the city centre. I don't know Cork that well, but it's quite pleasant.
From this forum those going are: Suss, Scottie, Joke, Jules, ArrGee, Noel, I think Adrian from Liverpool/Yorkshire? Do The Rat, and Ronthecabbie. Sorry if I've forgotten anyone, and all partners of the forementioned are included.
There is a forum called The Peoples Republic of Cork for all things Cork related. Maybe one of us could join and invite the local Corkonians along, or sound out how the gig is being received. With a week to go we need not worry about cancellations. Must be a big local contingent going.
Am going to Cork, alas all my good buddies couldn`t get time off so on my lonesome, anyone wanna meet up for a beer b4 the gig would be appreciated, saw em in iow was awesome so cant wait for oct dates so Cork here i come....
There maybe one or to people from BG Facebook page. I add it to the events rather than main page so we don't get hundreds of people turning up . I think the doors open at 7 pm. What about 5 or 5.30 pm?
Meet at Clancy's before and after the gig. I won't get to Cork until 5pm, and if I'm running late will probably go straight to venue. Will get a ticket on the night, as I doubt it will be delivered. Feel free to let everyone on Facebook/Twitter know.

Stick it on the main page! Let's get people in there. Meet from 4pm onwards.
I'm good for clancys,am arriving in cork 7.30 am ,I will facebook friend u Jules and hopefully meet u and then find the others,5.30 - 6 sounds good don't wanna be half cut wen I get in,I'm open to any other suggestions, can't wait for this should be the Dogs Bollox...
It will probably be 5 - 5.30 for me. Did you friend me and have I responded, Ronthecabbie? Just accepted a couple of Rats, but also had a couple of mystery requests, which I ignored. Do send again, if I mistook you for a 'mystery' .

They'll all be wearing Boomtown Rats shirts and maybe carrying inflatable bananas. I'll probably be fully cut when I get there if Dublin is anything to go by.
I'm staying with relatives down the road in a place called Carrigaline..will head to Clancys & see you all there...ben trawling the Internet & papers re reviews on the
Rats' IOW gig & looked at the gig on you tube...tell you what, the Rats still have it, without a doubt!
I've wrangled up a guy in Cork who says he might be along to Clancys. He has all the Rats albums and seems to know his stuff. He saw the Rats at the Neptune Stadium in Cork back in 1985, and says the Rats were the first band he was really into.

Nope, gonna get my ticket when I get there. I'm on the 3.30pm out of Stansted and the 8am back on Saturday morning. 6am is too early for me
Ha ha and Howard only ordered a half pint. He told us to put them on his bill, so he didn't hear what we were ordering. Probably was rather surprised to receive his bill and only be charged for half a pint .
I have my tickets, but I did buy them within a few hours of being on sale.
I'm the opposite, I buy them a few hours before they stop selling them. Made an exception for the October dates, but I'm wholly unreliable (
Should Ryanair announce a lengthy delay on Friday afternoon, I'll just head home. I reckon I can arrive at Cork airport at 7.30pm and be OK, so I have two and a half hours to play with. I only had about an hour spare for Dublin in December.
Almost certainly, but you're going to have to get out of town to get there whichever way it goes? Maybe a cab from Clancy's? Might even be more options to share costs too? Maybe Ron has some contacts??
Tent is in industrial estate, doesn't look like there is much nearby according to street view. The pubs in the vicinity are locals, so you not may find them as welcoming as city centre bars. Taxi or number 2 bus go there, but apparently traffic can be bad, so walking may be best. It's only 30 minutes away.
