OK not my own - and it's quite peasy, though must admit I got question 3 wrong, but was in two minds about that one, and obviously chose the wrong one but at least I didn't cheat and google it .. Got all the others right though

Anyway it whiled away 5 mins of another boring afternoon at work - and off for a walk and icecream with a mate shortly so not too much time to fill in now ... Ssshhhh, don't tell anyone no

I'm embarrassed to admit, Lisa, that I got them all rightsmile. Last one about were the Rats the opening act at Live Aid might have been aimed at those who think Bob would be so egotistical as to have his own band on first at Live Aid.

Status Quo were the first act on at live Aid. On the other hand I had never heard of Brenda Chenowith....

No googling. Got them all right. I did ponder as well over no 3, but obviously went in the right direction.

Without googling, Jules, or anyone, which two Rats were born outside County Dublin?

Yes Jules, you're right. Gerry Cott was born in Co Kildare, which is just next door to Dublin, and I think he moved to Dublin when he was young.

Ok which of the Dublin born Rats went to school in a village in North Co Dublin, well away from Dun Laoghaire, which is in South co Dublin? All very parochial and trivial I know.

Easy clue. Well I don't know, but by process of elimination it is either Fingers, Garry or Simon. I will guess Garry .

I got it wrong, cos they did play with the Ramones and Talking Heads at Slough.

. The Boomtown Rats issued their first single "Looking After No.1" in 1977, and toured the UK with which American band?

Your Answer: The Ramones

The correct answer was Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers

The Boomtown Rats played a few gigs with Tom Petty on his 1977 UK Summer tour. It was not too long, however, before the band were headlining for themselves. "Looking After No.1" is often regarded as the first New Wave record to be played on BBC radio and television. It made a respectable number 11 on the UK charts.

35% of players have answered correctly.

Did I get it right then if I put The Ramones??

I know I saw an article once where Bob slagged them off, so obviously assumed they had met!

Well they did play on the same bill as The Ramones, so I think it is a right answer.  OK, just one gig, so calling it a tour could be an exaggeration, but they did play with them in 1977.
