Peaches hate list:

this was in smash hits magazine the other day

Peaches Geldof I hate...

Being called spoilt-'my life is ordinary'

Ridiculous names-'My wierd name has haunted me all my life'(oh dear)

You are what you eat-'Gilian McKeith is cruel!'

The countryside-'I shudder at the thought'

Being famous-'People claim to know me because of my surname'

Initially, of course, Geldof’s children were talked about because of their unusual names. “ Fifi was named after my aunt, who was great to me. I didn’t have a mum [his mother died from a brain haemorrhage when Geldof was seven]. Peaches popped out with this soft, downy blonde complexion so I called her that. Pixie came out this squashed little thing with pointed ears – f*** me, she’s Pixie! Paula’s contribution was her southern belle fixation, she imagined that she was Elizabeth Taylor, living permanently under these magnolia trees, and so it was Trixibelle and Honeyblossom. Tiger was Michael and Paula’s baby, so all the odds and ends that go with her name are their combined fault.”

Tiger as a nickname (on its own) is quite sweet, but as a real name hmmm. Nevermind.

If Peaches dislikes her name, I wonder why she doesn't use one of her other names? She has plenty to choose from. Does Pixie have any other names?

That Sunday Herald article is interesting (if true). I thought it might have been Paula who named them except for Fifi...

what is heavanly hiraani all about?

Does that quote mean honeyblossom comes trees!!

I wonder what's wrong with the countryside? I'm a city girl and would never live there, but...

I also have to question her last one. She writes in national papers, so has fame of her own right and choosing, but hates it?

I think its probably that total strangers will approach her with an air of familiarity, just because of her name, that annoys her.

I think if she chooses to pursue a career in media, the name will open doors for her though (and already has done so..........!)

I can't imagine that girl called anything else than "Peaches". She was destined to have a life that wasn't ordinary and the name just emphasizes that. People have a way of growing into their names.

I'm sure the press would have loved a photo at Live 8 of Peaches holding baby Apple Martin! (I wonder what the Martins are going to call their new baby when it arrives?)

I think Peaches is a city girl through and through. In that documentary she did about teenagers she said as much. I can't imagine she's ever been a Girl Guide or a Scout and I just can't see her doing a long walk in the country or out pony riding or something. She'd be bored witless.

Does anyone know if Tiger Lily is known as Tiger Hutchence or Tiger Geldof? Just a random question......

According to the inset of Geldof in Africa, he calls them Fifs, Peach, Pix and Tig.  I presume their friends do too.

Kidneybean, I'm sure I've seen her referred to as Tiger Hutchence-Yates, but it was in a written article so could easily be incorrect?

And The Sunday Times picked up on the story today as well, even giving us a photo of Peaches.....

Seems like we all have a fascination with unusual names!

Nice pic of her and Pixie at yet another film premiere. Very confident looking and streetwise.

I must say they look fabulous........

Peaches hair actually looks shiny and healthy for a change. Big improvement on the usual bleached within an inch of its life look!
