Simon Mayo - Healthy Living Oldies

Tuesday evening about 5.30pm and Simon plays Looking After No.1 under the banner of 'Healthy Living Oldies' !

'I don't think that's what Bob was thinking about when he wrote that' - quite right Simon, perhaps best not to think about this one too deeply!

Think it's probably available on the I-player for a few days yet.

I'm pretty certain this song was featured as the answer to the long-running cryptic game The Identik-Hit Quiz on his Radio 1 Breakfast Show back in 1989, where Mayo and his cohorts acted a short scene to cryptically lead listeners to the title of a hit song. There was the flush of a toilet followed by a clip of George VI saying 'When I became King' - i.e Loo King after No.1

Wednesday evening play this week about 6.45pm under the Dr Mosh banner (something loud and frenetic) requested by listeners. Catch it on the catch up thingy, Simon exclaims 'What a song, Bob and the Boomtowners' and then reads out tweets and emails from other listeners happy to hear the requested song and generally describing how they've gone haywire for 3 minutes, normally to the astonishment of other household residents. Dr Mosh is sports guy, Matt Williams and loud rock, punk and metal is usually the order of the day.
