Appreciate people have posted in numerous threads about which tour gigs they will make or intend to make, but thought it might be good to consolidate on one thread so any potential meets could be organised.

This is NOT intended to be a 'biggest fan' demonstration, purely a chance to see who might be in same places so (if desired) faces can be put to names and mutual interest debated. Also helps any solo tourers like me give the pretence of not being billy no mates smile.

I'm extremely fortunate to have the opportunity to do all the tour, with the exception of this Saturday's museum gig (my fortune is well short of that), so who goes where over the next month or so?

re the NHM gig.  Totally agree Arr Gee.  I have been voicing my concerns about that pair since they contacted me way back at the beginning, but was told not to get involved. Wonder if anyone who has forked out £750 will get their money back. They will just do what they always do, dissolve that company and start another one.

You seem to spend a lot of money on buying cd's you have already got, and buying stuff multiple times. Would you not prefer to spend that money on airfares and going to gigs?

Seems odd that the site is down for maintenance in the week before a big event.  Remembering the site, it wasn't exactly leading edge, so I don't know what there is to maintain.

Definitely-

Dublin Saturday 12 OCT

London Sat 26 OCT

Most likely will go to Dublin Sunday as well

'Seriously considering' Birmingham or Manchester. Manchester is Friday night, Brum is Wed , so Manchester seems a better option, though return flights to Brum are only 25 euros at the moment. A weekend date seems more fun....

What sort of fan are you?  You're not in contention for the title of 'biggest fan' anymore biggrin

Seriously, I suspect they might do a few dates outside of Ireland and The UK at some point.   Given the sell out of the first night at Vicar Street and anticipated full Roundhouse, they may yet play London and/or Dublin again before the end of the year.

Unfortunately I don't have the spare dosh. The Friday night in Manchester seems a good option as it's the weekend.  Of course the airlines will put up their prices for all those Man United fans who live in Ireland and want to travel to Manchester for the football at the weekend.smile

Camden. Cannay wait. (Was considering Manchester too, but that cash is being redirected at the Pogues, a winter tradition)

Where and when is that? Assuming Brixton in December sometime? I've always shied away from seeing the band in recent years as I can't see it comparing to the 80s and all those fantastic gigs, mainly due to Shane's voice etc. Is the performance worth stumping up for?

Should add that prior to Rats in Cork in July my favourite gig ever was Pogues Hammersmith Palais 17/3/86. Paddy's day gig was just up another level.

Yup Brixton Academy 20th (and 21st I think) December.  I've seen them 4 or 5 times since 2006, always enjoyed it, the band are still good even though Shane's pretty buggered, but I've not got anything besides live recordings earlier than that to compare to!  The last two, Shane's ****-ups were part of the fun (falling over, repeating verses ad nauseum 'till Spider gives him a kick), but the price is on the high side for what it is.  They still pull the most enjoyable crowds to be part of, that I can think of, mind.

Might not be as solid if Phil Chevron can't play with them this time around.  Good Christmas gigs are thin on the ground now though.

Agreed. Might well be up for that one. Will also give Pogues some thought. Would be a great atmosphere regardless - audience can sing songs for him.

Going back to topic - London a clear favourite amongst us so Jules, do you want to recommend somewhere for a meet on your other thread that caters for all tastes, should people wish to hook up?

Down at 0.1 % for Dublin, Saturday night is not happening due to something coming up, and I doubt I can get to the airport for the flight on Sunday.  Have kept hotel booking for Sunday night just in case.

So just Cambridge & London.  Hawley Arms sounds fine.  Cool name for a pub.

I just picked it as it was well known from Amy Winehouse days - seems to be a music oriented pub. Hopefully will suit. Just needs Jules to approve the menu and 'authorise' it  smile

Irene also needs to check menu for venue. I will email them to see if they can cater for my dietary requirements .

Have emailed them, but also noted it says tell server about special dietary requirements. So sounds hopeful. Also asked about offering veggie alternatives. Need Irene's approval too and any other vegetarians (of love) amongst us.

Not that I'm going to eat all 4, I hasten to add! Just it seems a reasonable choice ...

Even 1 veggie option is fine Jules. I will eat anything veggie. I am staying at the Premier Inn Camden. No idea where it is. Irene

We will be travelling back to Oxford so will need to find out the time of the last tube and then the night bus timetables, just in case we miss it.

Would that matter to people? Are people flying in or travelling later? If so - other suggestions welcome.

Did see that, but that would be for last orders so could still eat relatively late before setting off. Besides, Jules will be stage front by then.

Let's face it we'll struggle to find somewhere that suits all food tastes, all arrival times etc. There's a million fast food outlets in Camden and they're not all chips and fat.

I'm happy with anywhere that's got sufficient seating, decent reviews, and serves drinks. It's the company I'm looking forward to smile

 I agree suss smile

The 6pm food deadline is not a problem for me at all, I just thought I'd mention it here, just in case.

Looking forward to seeing you all!

I will be arriving via Stanstead at around I pm. Not too worried about food. Should be around Camden area in afternoon, though still have not finalised hotel arrangements. Have a few options on the go and will choose one tomorrow.

The Damned support are Theatre of Hate and Ruts DC, so three good bands for the price of one.
