Have to agree with Bigbosscentral - it is an exceptional track and fully deserved a far higher chart position than 26. The initial signs were good, leaping as it did from 40 to 26. A fair few Rat tracks only started life outside the 40 in the first week(s) of release, ironically including Banana Republic.
House on Fire and Rat Trap were both first shown on TOTP when outside the 40, but no showings of Graveyard at either 40 or 26.
Bite is good, but if it's a choice between the two, it has to be Graveyard. If there's time constraints, can we not have the 'trunkated' version?
I agree with you mate :) 'Elephant's Graveyard' all the way! Truncated or not it needs to be heard. I'm going to Bournemouth and London. Fingers crossed!
It would be good to vary it. Hard to choose. Elephants is fantastic, but it was a real treat to get Never Bites for a change. I hope they go back to the full list and not drop songs off.

Having heard it twice already (or three if I go back to the early eighties), I don't see that it is a choice. I like to hear different songs, and Never Bite The Hand That Feeds has only been played live twice ever and never in my presence. If you take it as given the first ten singles will be played regardless along with Eva Braun, Joey and possibly Neon Heart that leaves six others to swap in and out. As the London date will be recorded it would be great if songs not recorded in Dublin are included.
I love Elephant's Graveyard and they only play one other song from Mondo Bongo ie Banana Republic. So I it had a choice I'd choose EG. Still it was great to hear Never Bite The Hand That Feeds live, and overall it doesn't matter too much which they choose to play.
Tough call this one. Like ArrGee I'm delighted to get an airing of a song I never expected, and one I've always liked to boot, but can see the merits of playing a single with a pretty strong bouncy dance beat to the masses.
Elephant's Graveyard is way down my list of favourite singles, but can see and accept others rate it highly, and ultimately it has to be a live set with the widest appeal. I'm therefore happy for EG to edge it, however thrilling it is for hardcore fans to get the long lost album tracks. I'd still love to hear Hurt Hurts live again, just for that guitar break, but doubt I will, at least not on this tour.
I suspect the set will stay reduced as they juggle what appeals, what flows, and also conserves some energy for later dates . Hopefully we haven't heard the last of Having My Picture Taken and Howard Hughes, but don't think it was any curfew that curtailed the set in Belfast.
Looking at the Leeds thread, seems we'll be lucky to get any more than IOW set before 10pm, unless they start just after Pointless finishes. Jules would need to get in just after lunchtime.
Completely agree though that the list ought to be varied for London if live CD is not to be a virtual duplicate. Maybe (hopefully) they'll go for broke there and play them all.

I'd not shed a tear if I never heard Having My Picture Taken again. There are better songs. Me & Howard Hughes is another matter, as that is a standout.
I think that Never Bites The Hand That Feeds should be played in London so it gets on the CD. And any other songs that have been rehearsed but not yet aired should get played in London for the same reason. At least that way, everyone gets the chance to hear the version from the band and it's not some unique thing to those who happen upon the Rats in say Dundee when they decide to play V Deep in its entirety...
