Normally it is done with the numbers of 1 - 9. The idea is to have ALL the figures from 1 - 9 in - every row (left to right) - every column (up to down) and - in each of the 9 small squares with no number showing up TWICE in any of the rows, columns or squares.
Given the number of figures given as a start, these things can very from "very easy" to "almost impossible to do".
This one is rather on the tough side (I managed to do it though).
The fact that here you are dealing with letters rather than figures plus the fact that two of the letters ("B" und "O") come up twice and have to be identified by "B" and "B˛" and "O" and "O˛" make it harder still.
Check the internet for other (number-based) SUDOKUs and you will find them VERY MUCH in fashion these days!
Not the thing for a Monday night, but I will have a go. I've only tried Sudoku once, so will find it particularly hard . Should be interesting and err a challenge...
That baby was a major Bitch! It was my first sudoku, but once I got the tricks of the trade, I thought it'd be easy, but noooo! The damned think kept me busy for the whole 3 weeks Corinna gave us to work on this. But I finally GOT IT! I'm pretty sure there are more than one solution though.

Well done MJ! I still have it on my "to do in the right moment" list, except seven or eight letters I managed so far! Corinna is back from Mexico, so I guess you can send the solution to her and collect your prize!
