If you are planning to go to Cambridge, it has almost sold out. I did my usual messing around on the website and tried to book 10 tickets and was told there weren't that many left. Only when I went down to 6 did they become available and then the site showed it as sold out until I released the tickets. Now there are only 5 cos I bought mine

It's a pretty small venue. Only 850 standing. Which puts it on a par with smaller London venues like Electric Ballroom and The Garage. I expect to see the reds of their eyes, and be able to get to the bar when they start playing Diamond Smiles.
It might be just the venue's allocation that has almost gone, but they are the best value at £26 including all fees and box office collection. Other agencies are charging more.
Oh and no chance of switching to the Cambridge Corn Exchange on the night as Sam Smith is on there. They are up against Royal Blood and Flying Lotus/Captain Murphy in Camden on the Friday. The Rats are offering the more mature alternative. Parents see The Rats, kids at the other venue.
Very good night out, and even got a variant on the snakeskin suit story. The now standard Joey less set with Me and Howard Hughes as an welcome encore. I was absolutely convinced it would be Having My Picture Taken. Must be the first time the Geldof Rats haven't played that when I have gone to see them all the way back to the 1970s. Diamond Smiles and The Boomtown Rats afforded me the opportunity to get to the bar for last orders.
The venue was compact, with great views even from the bar. Nice and crowded, although, self excepted, the audience were a little reserved. Also the Rats went all digital with a big screen behind them rather than the usual projections. Looked very impressive. Sadly missed Republica, but hopefully will catch them on Friday night.
And thanks to suss for the lift home which saved me running off to the station, though he may think better of it after listening to me prattle on for an hour or so on the journey back
