The best b side line ever could well be in the last verse of Late Last Night, I just haven't been able to decipher it yet!
The lyrics for Late Last Night and So Strange, two of the trickier lyrics to decipher are indeed published on the Surfacing reissued cd. Also the lyrics for How Do You Do. If you want them I can transcribe them, just let me know.
Interesting Real Different tops the list for a fair few of us.
It's real brilliant and arguably better than Graveyard on the other side.
A wicker chair away from rehabilitation has to be the best b side line ever.
I'll add Real Different as the best b side, and perhaps my fav Rats song of all time. Otherwise see Suss' Rats b sides link for full rankings.
One of the more 'neglected' b sides has always been Don't Talk To Me. I like it, and found it playing in my head a little lately. A solid enough track.

Suss, thanks so much for transcribing those lyrics for me. Good to finally 'hear' them after all these years.
While the imagery is good, it's no Rat Trap!
Let the song be a warning about overindulgence at Christmas, esp any late night snacking. Ps Congrats on Christmas gift teaser, reads a bit like a Dylan Thomas poem.
Got a cheap record player the other day, bought 2 cheap speakers and bang it works.Cannot believe for £65 I can now play all my old vinyl stuff again.Listening to Born To Burn for the first time in years.Apparantly I can record them over to my computer but I have not tried that yet.
Top 10,that is hard.I also really like Walking Downtown which is not mentioned in the list above. It would be in my top 10 along with It“s All The Rage and Born To Burn. Also Don“t Talk To Me was on the American version of Mondo Bongo.
Fav b side is Late Last Night followed by Born to Burn. Also really like Walking Down Town, which Ian in Pompey almost gave top marks for in Rattyvision song contest.
My fave is no hiding place should've been a side instead of charmed lives second fave is hard times ( I know it's an album track as well as beside) still love it just the same ,
I don't think you can beat Real Different. This used to be on the turntable all the time in 1981 and I was never sure how Mood Mambo could be lead track on Mondo Bongo when stuff as good as RD was consigned to B-side status. That said, the Rats gave good bang for your buck when it came to the B side.
I also really like Late Last Night with similar group 'oh oh's' to end.
My fave is no hiing place and then hard times after that all others are ok apart from the dire manatthetop which was awful nice leaving gift from gerry Cott hahaha!
