i am loving the shape of the awards.they actually look very much like bob's hands!and ricky wilson rocks.he doesn't look quite as bladdered as he did at the brits tho.man was he sloshed
i really really dont think bob geldof like russell grant at all lol, did anyone else notice that evils bob was giving him, everytime the camera went to him? ?
Even Jonathan Ross mentioned how painful the NME Award ceremony was this morning on his Radio 2 show! He made particular reference to the exchange between Geldof and that Russell Grant (Brand, Bran?) guy.......
I only watched up to the bit where Bob accepted the award for best Music DVD for Live 8. Suppose I could have taped the rest but it was so poor I just couldn't be arsed. That compere should be taken out the back and put out of his misery. I suppose he thought he was being edgy and cool but it just seemed to me to be crude and in poor taste.
Bob did get the Hero of the Year gong too? What was that acceptance like I wonder? (Did anyone see that?)
Poor Bob! If I'd been sitting there with my oldest girl (who's the same age as Pixie) I'd have had the same look on my face.
I see Simon Pegg was in the audience and got to present an award. Why couldn't he have presented the show? At least he's genuinely funny. In fact why couldn't they have got just about anyone else?
You all disappoint me. I'm desperate to watch Bono say "f*ck" 14 times in his award presentation to Bob, thinking it might be among the most hilarious bits of television in the history of mankind. And do any of you have a link posted or an upload? No. *Sigh*
By the way, I've been asked to find out if the UK is as tight-assed as we are, whether the word "f*ck" is allowed to freely travel your airwaves or whether it has to be censored out. US free television networks have a 7 second delay for censoring when broadcasting live shows, thanks to Bono saying "f*ck" at the Grammy awards several years ago (and was not helped much by the infamous Janet Jackson wardrobe malfunction).
oh yeah franz ferdinand didn't turn up so they were gonna give their award to kaiser chiefs but one of the chiefs said they should give it to the cribs and ryan then dived over the table took the award and was taken to hospital shortly after that.
they didn't show hero of the year or at least i didn't see it and i watched it all.Bob looked so pissed off with russel grant, after he called him a hobo and said that he'd been eating out of i don't like mondays for 30 years.can't blame him for what he said really.and the girls weren't to pleased either!
What lovely happy family photogaphs. Dad and daughters obviously have a loving relationship and can have a laugh together. They all look very relaxed and happy.
I will have to watch more, I forwarded it to the Live8 award. It seems there is much more to it than that. I spotted Peaches with a big proud grin when Bob went up to get his award.

Franna, the NME Awards Ceremony wasn't a live broadcast for us, but British TV are quite liberal about what goes out to air after the watershed of 9pm (Apart from curse words I've even seen full frontal male nudity on British TV late at night). It was around midnight by the time Bono's presentation of Bob came on TV so we got to hear the word in all its glory. It was quite funny in a wry sort of laid-back Bono way!
The word Bob used to describe Russell Whats-his-face (the compere) was bleeped out however! I don't know what exactly Bob called him but Jonathan Ross said on radio this morning that it was the worst thing you could call someone!
It is very offensive. As you are now starting to realise the only word bleeped out after the watershed. I think we've explained watershed before...
Yes, you have previously explained watershed. I remained under the impression that for you "c*nt" was just another form of saying something like "wanker", both fairly harmless, common forms of abusive and derogatory speech. Everyone seems to say "c*nt" all the damned time in the UK, or maybe I just hang around with the lowlifes.
In the US, for the most part, you just don't get to say that word in public. I thought it was different in the UK.
I'm talking in terms of television and censoring. People say what they want and where they want publicly, it's not generally an issue and it doesn't make anyone a low life, by using it.
