does anyone know why tey changed title of tis album? On release of banana geldof was on radio saying bongo crazy was new album and first print of single label says this but on swap shop or sat superstore I can't remember which he said mondo bongo any ideas as just curious( prvious lps All had song line as title fine art from wind chill tonic from she's so modern so this would have made sense.
I'm sure I read something about this some time back, although I can't remember the source or exactly what it said. Just a vague recollection. Sorry. It may have been something simple such as Mondo Bongo sounds better!

Like yourself I to read something like this saying the name suited the album better and in keeping with the feel of the album
Talking of this LP Was in a guys house on Friday. And the talk got round to what we liked. To my amazement He said he liked the Rats and the 1st rats LP he got was none other than Mondo Bondo saying that he loved to two singles that came of the LP tempting him to buy it. Just shows you the way other see things, he thinks this album is great over the other albums?? Not so sure myself But it takes all sorts
Banana Republic was so different but in a good way and then Elephants Graveyard felt like a return to the energy of previous singles so I can see why your friend was impressed. Mondo Bongo was the highest placed chart album for the Rats and certainly sold well. In parts, it really is a good as Surfacing, but the odd filler had crept in by way of the crass Red and the over indulgent Mood Mambo, or the rather lazy Thumb. Real Different although a b side, is as good as anything off Surfacing so the Bongo months were certainly no disgrace.
Yeh I agree mark I loved real different got an import ep with it on called rat tracks came outin canada just after mondo got some decent tracks on it must admit il liked under their thumb. And thought mondo a brill lp
Real Different in my opinion should have been on the album. Other likes on the album for me Please don't go,This is my room. Also like Mood mambo. I talked to farther murphy and he swore he wouldn't tell But some of them boys are going to go to hell. Ireland to a tee on this one. You were always getting told you would go to hell if you done something bad
