I'm currently reading Elvis Costello's memoir/autobiography, 'Unfaithful Music & Disappearing Ink', which just mentioned a couple of Rats:

Bob Geldof and his pal Phil Lynott were the loudmouth Dubs that you always found in your dressing room when you came off-stage at the Roundhouse. They'd always tell you how sh!te you were and drink all your beer. Johnnie Fingers might be there, too, in his pyjamas. I always liked Fingers.

There was an earlier mention of BG In the context of Live Aid.

Very good book, by the way.

I saw this snippet somewhere and can well imagine them turning up, drinking all the beer, eating the sandwiches etc. Then leaving .
