Not too much in Leapardstown, but it is very close to the Rats real home town ie Dun Laoghaire. Some great places to visit along that stretch of coast eg Dalkey, Blacklrock where Geldof went to school.By and large it's all fairly affluent suburbia, much more the Rats social background than inner city Dublin.
Dun Laoghaire is nice, laid back compared to Dublin. Nice trip down the coast too on the local suburban train (Dart) out to Greystones. So I'd head for Dun laoghaire for a drink and a bite and a bit of sightseeing, and then to the concert. That's of course if you have the time to do that.Should be pretty nice in August.
I have actually been on the Dart train down to Dun Laoghaire and Kiliney.
We are staying in Dublin first for a couple of days and then will get the train down to Leopardstown on the day of the concert. Then flying back the day. Another trip on the Dart railway may be in the offing. We went to Bono's house last time we did it. I knew he wasn't even in the country but I still jumped out of my skin when the gates opened. .
