I've got no future, I know my days are few

If you haven't heard much of the Maestro of Melancholy, get his first 11 albums for under £21 (MP3s immediately, CDs to follow when in stock)

All of Leonard Cohen's albums, 11 of them, released between 1968 and 2004, including Songs of Leonard Cohen (1968), Songs from a Room (1969), Songs of Love and Hate (1971), New Skin for the Old Ceremony (1974), Death of a Ladies' Man (1977), Recent Songs (1979), Various Positions (1984), I'm Your Man (1988), The Future (1992), Ten New Songs (2001), and Dear Heather (2004).

That is a horrible article, and very inaccurate in places.

The box set is a good start, but don't forget the 3 studio albums released after it: Old Ideas 2012, Popular Problems 2014, and You Want it Darker 2016.

Also lots of live albums, including Live in Dublin, Live in London, Songs From The Road, Can't Forget, Field Commander Cohen, Cohen Live, just to name a few.

Two weeks on from hearing Leonard passed away I am still devastated, totally heartbroken, broken.

From having nothing by Leonard, I bought the box set and all the live albums. I've since bought the newer releases as well. Thanks to BG and Musicmania, I was switched on to his music. I'm sad not have been able to see him live.

For someone widely regarded as a miserablist he had some fantastically funny lines:

"You were Marlon Brandon,

I was Steve McQueen,

You were KY jelly,

I was Vaseline"

In terms of quality of lyrics, probably only Dylan that could stand shoulder to shoulder with Mr Cohen
