£30 at the 100 Club?! Good lord, I don't think I've ever paid more than £20 there and usually a lot cheaper than that. Although The Members always seem to be on the bill (and they're not great anymore, to be honest).

Saw the Adam Ant tickets, completely ridiculous. Those prices just aren't justifiable. I can't imagine a scenario where I'd even consider paying upwards of £100 for a gig. Most of my favourites this year have been about a tenner. The furthest I've stretched is £30 for The Damned, and that's worth it for them adding Penetration to the bill.

I can't believe that all these O2 etc spaces need prices to be that high when so many independent venues are keeping it relatively cheap.

Last gig I went to was Elvis Costello for an eye watering £60. Which I really can't justify. I suspect that complimentary tickets aside, Julian Cope will be my only 2017 outing. Good job the Rats aren't doing any dates in London next year.

XTC _ unlikely to ever play live again, though Leicester were unlikely to win the Premier League smile

Dexys Midnight Runners

Clinic- poor ticket sales scuppered last scheduled Dublin appearance

The Only Ones- as above

Momus- Scottish indie genius way too good for the masses-lives in Japan nowadays.

Geneva - 90's indie heroes sadly disbanded

The Fall- just never got around to seeing them

Carter The Unstoppable Sex Machine-

Magazine- hardly ever play live nowadays but do turn up occasionally

The Band of Holy ' Joy-baubles and bangles/emotional tangles/ as you walk out the door..'..A New Cross Dexys for anyone who hasn't heard them.

Marc Almond- true genius both musically and lyrically.

Silver Apples- sixties psych/electronic/experimental godlike geniuses-

PS Surprised that Arrgee has not seen Radiohead or Arctic Monkeys live yet. I have not seen Radiohead live either. I like them but not sure if I'd be into seeing them live.

I saw the Rolling Stones about 10 years or so ago in Amsterdam. The ticket was pretty expensive and we were as far back and far up a very steep stadium as you could get. The tickets were nowhere near the price of their more recent tours. Who can actually afford several £100 for a gig ticket?

Squeezing in a gig tonight to see ... Glenn Tilbrook! Bought the tickets a while back (or somebody else did!) so not sure how much ... Anyway looking forward to it. And the traffic jam driving home from work just now was greatly alleviated by Simon Mayo playing Rat Trap

Even the "bog standard" seats are very very expensive and amazingly sold out for FIVE nights. It is £520 for the soundcheck package! And to think I am baulking at paying £30 to see The Vapors.

Phil might be playing at Spurs spanking new , biggest in London, superstadium.Seems it's gonna hold gigs as well as football and American footlball.Very impressive from what I've seen.

Can't think of anything worse. That truly would be hell on earth.

Besiides, not biggest in London. They already play the odd game at the biggest stadium, though I doubt they will stage their Thursday Night games there next year.

I meant it will be the biggest league ground in London.Saw the Monaco/Spurs match on Tuesday-Spurs won't be worring the Champions League for a long time on that form. No need to worry about Harry '40' Winks. smile
