... I reckon its safe to say "Citizens of Boomtown" is the new LP title. Though I hope the image on the tee shirt isnt the LP cover.
Look who popped into the Brewhouse yesterday to film for their upcoming new album! Thanks Boomtown Rats and everyone involved in the shoot. We had a fab time! xx

The video was recorded on Wednesday at the Brewhouse as the Director was particularly wanting a club in the Jewellery Quarter area featured. After this, the club played the second album on vinyl yesterday evening to great acclaim. The band said that they are looking forward to returning to Birmingham very soon. Some might say (subtle Oasis ref) that means they're coming back to the second city (sorry Noel) when they tour CofB.

Gallagher, rather than Noel of this parish
when they tour CofB. So hope COB isn't a load of cobblers.
How do you know about the director and what he wanted btw?
Haha. I used to live in Birmingham and know a couple of people who live in the vicinity. I spoke to one of them today on the back of this topic and from what he knows through his circle, I was able to make my 2.41pm post. He also said the staff thought Geldof was very friendly. They videoed a girl dancing in the club but it could not be confirmed if this was live to a new Rats track or if it will be edited in, so to speak.
I know that sounds a bit 'certain person' or 'a source says' etc, but that's how it was.
And indeed, the award for 'supposition becomes true position' goes to mystic ArrGee.
Now if he only will one day give me those 6 numbers.......

All very interesting. Wonder were they shooting in the general Brum area or using the pub as the main focus?
I presume now it's only a matter of editing the video so some sort of first single release should be on the cards in the next few weeks.

From what I gathered, the video will feature the girl happening upon the club and then going into it and dancing in it, so shades of the Diamond Smiles video which featured Michelle Gibbons (as did the Mondays video). Geldof mentioned that CofB is set for a September release, so I would guess a single will be released ahead of this in the old fashioned process of single, album, tour each supporting one another.
