 Cheers. Shows how little regard I regrettably paid to, or remembered about, the debut album sleeve notes, although I knew about Holland and Ibiza for their later work.

According to inner sleeve it was recorded in Germany. Mixing may have been done in Rockfield.

Interesting they recorded in Germany before the Maastricht Treaty in 1992. How did that happen?

 Might have been the Rory Gallagher connection that lead them to Dierks Studios in Stommein, though it was famous for producing many of the late 60's/70's Krautrock albums and seems to have had a prolific output.

I actually didn't know the debut album  was recorded here, presumed it might have been somewhere in UK. Tonic and Surfacing were both recorded at Hilversum in the Netherlands.

From Wikipedia (lol Rory Gallagher's Darts Club!);

. Thanks to Dierks Studios excellent reputation more international top stars were flocking to Stommeln: Ike & Tina TurnerEric BurdonWarThe Boomtown RatsDokken, and Irish rock and blues musician Rory Gallagher. Most of them visited more than once. Gallagher preferred to work during the night and recorded two consecutive albums there. He even started a dart club at the pub next door.

 It still baffles me how my parents holidayed extensively throughout the continent in the 60s and 70s before the integration process that was apparently so necessary happened.

Even more amazing, I went to France with my primary school back in the early seventies and I didn't even have a passport! Nothing at all. Not even the visitors passport.

There was a no-passport agreement between the United Kingdom and France from 1961 until 1984.
