I was reading that Ric Ocasek died on Sunday, so of course I started listening to their back catalog on Amazon.  I had forgotten how good they were.  A prototype for The Strokes.  Best Friend's Girl on picture disc was the first I ever saw, never got it as it was as rare as hen's teeth back in the day.

THE CARS My Best Friends Girl/Moving In Stereo (UK limited edition 7, Elektra K 12301, 1978)

Touted as the first commercially available picture disc single in the UK, My Best Friends Girl was the second single off The Cars eponymously titled album and was propelled to No 3 in the UK charts and No 35 in the US Billboard listings largely thanks to substantial sales of the picture disc version. The single features an image of a vintage hot rod on the A-side and the red Elektra label on the flip and should be housed in the custom-printed clear PVC sleeve.
