Just wondering if people think that Citizens Of Boomtown will hit the charts?.I have no idea how many albums one needs to break the top 40 but if Bobs How To Decompose can get to nr 89 on the back of Silly Pretty Thing then there is a small chance.I have ordered 6 copies already(2 different vinyls, cds and download) but I will order my 10 copies I promised myself back in 1985 should The Boomtown Rats ever release a new album. The single has got positive reviews but I have no idea how much air play it has got in the UK.

Maybe.  Different times when How To Decompose was released.  Back then there were record stores and streaming was excluded.   I would say it is likely to be in top 40 vinyl, but may not make top 100 albums because of streams.  Also not sure how the bundled sales with the book count towards charts.

It is doing OK on the Amazon Bestsellers even though it is not released yet

Amazon Bestsellers Rank: 562 in CDs & Vinyl (See Top 100 in CDs & Vinyl) #264 in Pop

Aside from Steve Wright no air play I am aware of in UK, but then I listen to Radio 5 Live and there is no music on that.

More than likely not. But never say never. Todays type of music is not great. And you know all the young ones are digging deep into back catalogues and finding all this wonderful work. Bands like the Rats. Having so much great songs on LPS. Fantastic

Doesnt take much to get into lower reaches of charts.  Damned went top ten with their last studio LP and #63 with hits compilation. Just one week mind. Mainly old farts buying them.
