German press report that tomorrow night's Geldof solo gig in Magdeburg ,  Germany has been cancelled due to the Coronavirus.

Geldof's management confirmed this to the local newspaper. There are currently 46 cases of Covid19 in Germany and a lot of public events have been cancelled to deal with potential spread of the virus.

I wonder if other tour dates will be at risk, particularly Brighton...

Also I wonder how well the ticket sales went.  Convenient excuse?

Anyway, general advice is to not contract the coronavirus is to avoid crowded places.  So I went to Arsenal last night...

(I'll get my coat)

Geldof does a lot of solo gigs in Germany so I'd imagine ticket sales were ok.

The Ireland Italy 6 Nations match has been postponed. If were lucky the St Patrick's Day shenanigans will be cancelled.smile

Doctors say widespread infection in the UK is an inevitability and concern amongst sporting bodies was raised further after the Swiss government banned large events of more than 1,000 people.

Might have to scrap the Rats tour dates!  Geldof solo dates should be unaffected

Fear itself is the biggest Corona virus danger

I don't know what we're meant to do

But I've got a hunch or two

Treat it like the normal flu

You need to take the hygiene view

I don't think I have ever had flu. Common cold, yes but not flu.

I've only had it once and you know about it! I'm pretty good on hygiene matters (always astonished at men who emerge from the toilets at work and completely bypass the wash hand basins). I use hand gel, now more frequently these days, and more recently have had the flu jab in the autumn. Between 500 and several thousand people die each year in the UK from flu. Nobody has died here yet from Corona virus. You don't see the stock market collapsing on news of these yearly 'normal' flu deaths. Shows how easily people will go into a press prattle panic now.

I see that and then they eat with their hands at their desk.  Even those who wash their hands just let the water run over them, no soap.  Hot desking is sure to enable this spread.  I bet some unhygienic cnut will use my desk on Monday...

Sensor activated flush and taps where we work help. A sensor activated sliding entrance door would be a good idea. Who wants to touch door handles the dirty types have touched?
