ah seems like there is a chart position already. Not sure it is final.

15th , so my prediction was pretty good!

Official Albums Chart Update Top 100

The UK's Top 100 official biggest-selling artist albums of midweek is compiled by the Official Charts Company, based on sales of CDs, downloads, vinyl and other formats across Friday - Sunday.

It's fantastic it reached number 15. I'm delighted. I know the charts and record sales aren't what they were but it's still a positive indication. I'm sure the band will be thrilled with that.

I checked chart today and Rats not even in top 100. Not sure what is going on? Is there a final, end of week chart that becomes the 'official position reached?'

In the old days there was the Thursday night rundown on TOTP. Sundays was top 40 on the radio.

Yes, tomorrow. BBC Radio 1 announce it 4pm with Scott Mills.

Midweek chart had the Rats at 15. The chart you checked today will almost certainly have been the 13/03/20 album chart.

The singles chart was run down on TOTP every Thursday night, announced two days earlier on a Tuesday lunchtime in the 70s and 80s (headphones in during Physics lol) moving to Sundays 4 days before the TOTP rundown as time went by.

That's disappointing after 15 mid week. I wonder why the disparity?

Still, it's better than V Deep and In the Long Grass, purely in terms of peak position so far. Will it go up next week?

I think the midweek position was based on sales for Friday -Monday, when there was an initial spike in purchases. I know streams are also used to give an indication of popularity.

No other way of explaining it. 48 is pretty good. I wasn't sure if it would chart at all, and it may climb a little further. So many are or will be off work which may mean more people are at home listening to music . It's much easier to access music nowadays so no excuse for anyone not be hear, buy or stream the album.

I suspect that all,the pre and early orders accounted for the top 15, and then there were no sales/streams later in the week.

#48 is OK in this day and age.

One place higher in Scotland at 11

On the vinyl only album chart, the Rats were new at 9

The mid week overall album chart ain't looking too good. I cannot find them in the top 100. The last version had them at 12 before an end of week position of 48 was settled upon.
