You Tube Music

As a result of lockdown I have been sorting through my mp3s.  All 35,000 of them.  Anyway as I was worried about the 50,000 song limit on Google Play Music, along comes You Tube Music which allows 100,000 tracks and will transfer all the Google Play music across to boot.  Just uploaded Citizens of Boomtown.  Next it's Bowie which could take some time...

Anyway, if like me you have thousands of music tracks and want to listen to them anywhere without filling up your device storage, this is the answer.  And best of all it's FREE!!  (unless you want to pay £12 to access 40 million tracks)

I don't have any mp3s. All my music is on cassette tape, vinyl or CD and I have a Teac system that transfers the first two on to a recordable cd. I listen to music on You Tube and occasionally Spotify or listen to music on Internet radio. My car has a cd player, but I am told they are becoming rarer so will probably be forced into another format soon. This is what normally happens because of my technophobia.

 You're so 20th century!

Lamentably so! I do have an Ipad and Internet radio at home and DAB in the car, so I like to think I occasionally show small signs of adapting to the 21st century!

When I began work in the mid 80s, the office took delivery of a new fax machine. I thought this was the bees knees.

Are you sure it's not a Walkman?

What do you have on your iPad if you don't have mp3s?

I suspect your car CD player will play MP3s.  I put the entire Rats back catalogue on a MP3 CD a few years ago for the car.  Great not having to change discs while driving.  Almost had an accident or ten doing that   Alas the Bowie back catalogue did require three discs.  Maybe five now with all the recent releases.

Of course, now the Rats have a new LP, I will have to make a new one.  I didn't bother when they released the RatSh!t ep.  And will have to omit the first and last tracks.  And remix KISS.

I have a personal cd player which to Mrs L's chagrin I take on holiday with 6 cds, which the pouch holds!

I genuinely don't understand the second question! I just surf the Internet and play you tube videos on it and read my emails on it. Do you mean because I (very occasionally) access Spotify on it?

Sorry I misread it as iPod!

I have a hard drive jukebox in the car but have never used it. I am just happy with the radio, cds. The car has Bluetooth and much of the time, notwithstanding lockdown, the radio and cd are interrupted by work-related phone calls. I have learnt how to play the audio of you tube videos through the car system.
