Dunno if anyone liked them back in the day,  but their new LP is worth a listen. For me, they are one of those perfect bands who never made a bad song, but then they only released two LPs back in the day.

Also according to Spotify, The Vapors have The Rats first on the "also like" list and vice versa. So they must be pretty good

Thank you, I will have a listen. Everyone remembers Turning Japanese, but did they not have any other hits? Seem to recall one called the news? I'll have a look later.

A couple of top 50 songs to add to the w@nking song, but for me all of their singles were brilliant.  And the two LPs were top notch.

1979"Prisoners"        Non-album single
1980"Turning Japanese"3

New Clear Days
"News at Ten"44
1981"Waiting for the Weekend"
"Spiders"       Magnets
"Jimmie Jones"44

Song was called News At Ten, made a big impression on me back in the day. Remember hearing it when I used to listen to Radio Luxembourg late 70s into early eighties.

Just revisited News at Ten and Jimmie Jones after a very long time. Both brilliant. Not sure if its because Ive been listening to the Sweet tonight, but it immediately reminded me of Wig Wam Bam at the start! Not sure how, with an infectious chorus and TOTP appearance, Jimmie Jones stalled at 44.
